Cher has tonsillitis bound to be hard to sing and give it her best

A lot of singers have problems with their health...they still go out and nail a performance, even if the performance is slightly below par. What they don't do is completely fall apart and start crying. The cry-baby nonsense may work on 'mummy & daddy', but this is the big wide world of record contracts and making money. If the top bosses can't make money out of you, they will drop you like a bad smell.

Cher's problem I think is that she is very young. When we were 16, would we have had the ability to have reigned back our performance so that we went easy on the throat, but did just enough to get through this round and then fight another day?

As such, she should probably come back next year or seek to get a record contract through other means. It is quite possible that Cowell may take her on.

One thing people must remember is that you don't need to win x-factor to become successful. Conversely, winning x-factor does not guarantee you success. x-factor is merely a show case for your talents. What you choose to do after x-factor is what ultimately determines how successful an artist you will be.

... i think she will get through

Stranger things have happened. But ask yourself this question, "Why should someone who cracked in only the 3rd round, be allowed to continue?"

Who's to say that if they let her continue, her teenage tantrums won't continue and she may end up crying on national TV in front of 20M people?

My votes:

Boys: Paije, Matt, Aiden.
Girls: Gamu, Keri, Rebecca.
Groups: 1 Direction, The Reason, Husstle.
Oldies: John, Elesha, Storm.

I don't think anyone from any group is amazing though.

I hope Paije gets through, he's probably my favorite act. Has a great voice, so soulful.

I can't stand the sob storys and crying on this show. The blokes alone, are a bunch of pansies that need to man up and stop getting emotional at the drop of a stone.

Paije is very good.
I can't believe that Cowell, initially said, "no"...he did a fantastic audition and was A LOT better than many of the people who were put through.

I think the feeling is that if a contestant cries and has a sob story, the audience will remember them more and are more likely to vote for them.

If they have a sob story, then the voting public could well feel sorry for them and give them a few extra votes. To this end, contestants seem to have got it into their heads that to make it through the rounds, THEY MUST CRY AND HAVE A SOB STORY.

2/3 for the boys, 2/3 for the oldies

Can't believe that fat cow got in over Elesha, she forgot the words!
