So, the group went out. I actually prefer the group more than Katie, who I think is awful.
Katie was basically saved by the judges. For whatever reason, the judges feel obliged to keep her in the show. I wonder why...
 
I thought FYD were one of 4 that were ok last night.

I knew Weasel would be kept in. She's got links with BMG and they wouldn't have let her go after all the controversy.

Good to see Wagner still there though! :)

Sony BMG dont exist any more only Sony music, Syco bought out her previous contract so she could be on the show, much like they are now trying to do with (or may have done) With Treyc Cohen. Plenty of other artist have had previous record contracts, and as i posted earlier that John even won a Mobo a few years ago.

Well, when it existed then. She was apparently 'friendly' with the ex Vice President of Sony Music.

Neither Katie or FYD should have been in the bottom three. But based purely on their "save me" performance, FYD were right to be voted out.
 
Well, the days of Leona are well and truly gone, and now entrants either already have their foot in the music industry door, or are comedy acts just put through to ensure the former get through to the final.
 
What I do not understand is the backlash over Gamu.

Have I missed something here? Why is Cowell getting his lawyers involved, because she was on the show? Please give me a break.

Why don't people understand that even if she had have gone through, that her visa has expired, she needs to go home.

Oh I'm sorry Mugabe has firing squads ready for you, but maybe you should have thought about that before you went about bad mouthing him. And also I read in the paper she said "Going on the X-Factor has ruined my life, if I hadn't done that we would be staying", well I'm sorry you decided to go on TV with your sob story and you thought you would win because of it.

yea but not legally... they could have hidden but nope the quest for greed continues and what do you know, you get found out along the way.

i think it would be a disgrace if they did not recieve the same treatment as any other immigrants who had been asked to leave.
 
I can't see any reason why Gamu should be given any special treatment. I dislike sob stories and crying on talent/game shows. There is absolutely no need for it, but it does seem to work, as most people fall for that nonsense.

I feel sorry for her predicament, but at the same time, if her Visa has expired and the authorities are sending her home, she has to go.
 
She should be treated like every other induvidual in her position. Why do I get the feeling that many of the people who want to 'save her' are the same that hated immigrants a few weeks ago
 
My marriage dies a little everytime my wife subjects me to a night of the X factor. We rebuild from Christmas and then start the destruction again when the auditions start. If ever they go year round I'm leaving and taking the dogs with me.

On another note, I somewhat understand the barstardisation of the language that causes people to needlessly add like to the end of verbal statements, but writing it down seems a bridge too far.;)

Racist much? Thank god you aren't in charge of the country.

I'm not saying Gamu or her family should get special treatment just because they are now in the public eye but if there is a genuine threat to their lives they should get the same protection afforded to anyone.

On topic, I thought Aiden and Treyc were the best acts. Based on the 'save me' performances, Katie deserved to be kept on the show, she sung her song a million times better than FYD sung theirs. Usher was, in my opinion, terrible. It was more like watching an exercise video than a singer. Joe definitely mimed too.
 
Can someone enlighten me as to the whole Gamu plight? I cant really be arsed to read about it.

As far as I was aware she came to the UK as the dependent of her mother who came on a student visa to study and simply stayed on after it expired. So as far as I know of it, they didnt flee the country because they were in danger at all. Admittedly I havent read much of it, but from what I can see there was no prior mention of being in danger in Zimbabwe until deportation was mentioned.

what part of his statement was racist?

there were no racially loaded slurs, or generalisations or stereotypes listed nor he he say she should leave because of her race? not the place for this, but on the fron page of the paper today it confirmed that some 150,000 failed asylum seekers had been granted an amnesty meaning they could stay, despite not meeting our criteria.

its a shame we have running the country the people that we do. how could they let that happen, and actually MAKE it happen without fighting it?
