Thermalright LGA1700-BCF Frame Corrector.

I see the listings for these make a big deal of only being compatible with 12th Gen CPUs. Is there any reason they wouldn't work with a 13th Gen? Aren't the sockets and CPU packages the same?

You can't make a big deal out of compatibility with a CPU that isn't out yet. In theory everything will be the same for 13th gen, including all the issues that come with the socket, but who knows if Intel will turn round and change something at the last minute?

I can't see it happening, but Intel have more money that brains.

Good to hear, still got to get around to fitting mine.

is it pointless to get one if youre using a 12100f? I will upgrade to 13th gen sometime next year but i am more concerned about bending issues rather temps cause my 12100f is paired with a noctua nh-u12s and max temps are 56's, ambient temp is 27C

Thanks. I can’t seem to find one made by thermalright, but can see many unbranded or unknown brand derivatives, mostly look like copies from China.
Just Google "Thermalright corrector frame" and they come a-swarming. Note that the Thermalright models is largely sold out of China, but all the listings I've seen are indeed Thermalright, not Chinese copies.

Yep thanks mate. Have one in hand now. Same as recommended from a YouTube video ordered from somewhere with a quick turnaround. Other sources appear to have lots of derivatives though, different appearances and ‘brands’.

Fitted mine tonight but foolishly took the cpu out for reasons I can’t even fathom now and then dropped it on a single pin. Kill me now. Pretty sure I’ve managed to fix it, will find out tomorrow when I start it up. Argh.

There a lot of BCF 1700 clones now. I believe the genuine Thermalright ones now have an authentication tag which can be verified against the Thermalright website.

Yeah, I'm looking at an example online right now, says "Finalcool" on the frame, is advertised as "thermalright" on the product title, and under Brand says "unbranded". Lots of examples like this. The one I have doesn't say 'Thermalright' on it directly or overtly on any of the packaging, apart from on a small paper slip, on a tiny bit of text on a small sticker on the back of the box, and on the thermal paste tube, and the frame says "Intel 12th" on it. Trademark is 'One enjoy'.

In the more recent photos I have seen the brown box is branded Thermalright and it has an authentication sticker with a scratch off validation code. Older stock may not have this though.
