Things I don't like (TIDL) thread

Your friend is absolutely correct. If we (the ambulance service) come up to traffic at a red light, we switch sirens off and hold back a bit and wait for the lights to change. If a driver crosses a red light and gets penalised or causes a collision, it is solely the driver's fault - moving out the way of an emergency vehicle is not a defence. However we always appreciate the efforts of those who do, safely. The fire service do the same. The police tend to bully you out the way though. Most drivers can't see past the end of their own bonnet, so crossing a red light is probably one of the most dangerous things we do.

Fair enough, I didn't know that! Any idea what the logic is?

Im having less sex than 81% of people my age according to my answer result comparison in the survey Australia Talks.

e: That means 19% of Aussies in my age range who answered get / have none.

I guess it comes down to the law and also enhanced driver training. I can claim some legal exemptions to the Road Traffic Act/Highway Code whilst emergency driving - one of which is crossing a red light. In normal day-to-day circumstances, no such exemptions exist for Joe Bloggs. Also, the general driving standard of the public is shocking and provision of such exemptions would have lethal consequences.

Computer games and crafting.....

Its boring, never done well, overly complicated for the sake of it, never intuitive and a complete waste of your time and effort, yet for some stupid reason everyone but me on the planet see it as game-play....

Nearly everyone in the airport queue for security checks bug me. There is notices everywhere about what needs to be done so I prep for it while queuing. Shoes and belt off and everything out of my carry on bag like electronics etc. Most people wait till they are at the scanners and this slows everything down. What makes it worse is they moan about the queues.

continuing the above Fast Track security in airports.

I just don't think its right people are able to pay to get through security checks quicker than those with less money to spare as they are a legal/compulsory requirement

You get the same security checks as everyone else does, you don’t have to queue.

Customers who always say “that’s a little out of our budget”
