Things that annoy you most on the roads

My number one hate is..........

.......People that dont stick to the one speed. (Ie there speed varys from 80ks-120ks on a 110k road)

My number 2 hate is people that speed up when u go to overtake

And my number 3 hate is people that dont indercate to turn then just slamm their brakes on. Almost been up the arse of 4 or 5 cars in 3 days because of lazy scrotes like them  :(

things that annoy me.....hmm.

1.drivers that own vehicles that have a fully functioning near side indicator, but a non-functional offside indicator...as displayed by their roundabout technique.
2.white van man and the fact that once you scratch below the surface he still thinks, and drives accordingly,as if he was in a car not a van.
3.drivers that cannot maintain a constant speed.
4.drivers that can't even spell lane discipline, never mind abide by it.
5.truck drivers who don't ease slightly off the gas to allow an overtaking truck to accomplish it's manoevure more quickly.
6.drivers that think the gap i've left in front of me is there on the offchance they may be on the road at that day,so i've kept a spot warm for them.
7.the dozy bint in the Pajero last week who wouldn't open her window to hear me try to tell her she had a tail light out.couldn't hear me so i made the action of rolling the window down to hear me at which she just shook her head and drove off.
8.drivers that think as they drive down sliproads, the traffic already on the carriageway HAS to move/slow down for them...and get irate if this isn't possible.

i'm stopping there as i could easily crash the OcUK server with all my gripes.

/humbug

And the teenagers that seem to think they look cool by deliberately walking accross the road very slowly with rapidly approaching traffic. It should be made allowable to have your fist hanging out of the window as you skim past one of these cretins.

yea some do it just to pee off the car driver. if you put your foot down they soon move out of the way.... fancy ya chances with a car do ya punk!! :)

bearing in mind a truck will be doing exactly 56mph whereas your car speedo MUST read fast.
the driver you mention may well have been over the 56 limiter, but not by the amount you mention for this reason alone.
Do you mean trucks the limiter will restrict his speed either way or am i miss reading?
If not, the limiter can be easily disabled by pulling out a fuse, my dad does it all the time.

What gets more more than not indicating is indicating at the precise moment the car moves out - oh thanks for pointing out that you're moving!

Tailgaiters - you SCARE Me on the on the motorway and I cant even move out of the way safely as you fill my rear view mirror. GO AWAY, YOU ARE ENDANGERING BOTH OF US.

The foglight crew - where's the fog?

People who dont wave when you let them pass.

People who flash you in roadworks zones on the motorway to go faster. NO!

i cba to list all the annoying things that are done by drivers. but the times i do flash or slow down to let people out from a junction, they just bloody sit there!! now i'll just leave a gap and if they want to go they can or if they dont they can sit there for ages

There it is! That's the one I couldn't think of! This ****** me right off!

The number of people I've flashed to let out, I've slowed down considerably only for them to sit there and stare at me as I realise they're not going to pull out in time and so have to pass them

I mean, yeah ok, so they were looking both ways for a gap in the traffic, but how bloody long do you want to look in one direction for?

A quick flick of the head each way is all that's needed.

Oh, and also people who indicate too early... and I'm talking 2 junctions too early!

And they can weigh 30 times or more than your average family car, takes a lot of road to stop 35 - 40 Tons.

well its what I was told when taking my CBT, they where talking about braking distances etc

He can expect a word from VOSA, there really cracking down on such antics these days.

I've got too many to list, but my number 1 at the moment is people who don't indicate.

Although this happens in lots of situations, the worst is when you get to a roundabout, see a car coming from the right so stop and wait just to see them turn left without indicating. (Even worse when the git behind you then beeps because you are waiting at a clear roundabout). It's not so bad when you can make an educated guess due to their road positioning, but there really is no excuse for it. This can slow down all the traffic at a roundabout, especially at peak times when having large empty gaps on a roundabout is just a waste - but I guess that that's alright because it doesn't hold them up at all.

It only takes a small movement of one finger to use an indicator, so this just goes to show that there are a large number of people who literally can't be bothered to lift a finger to help someone else.

then he drives an old truck,it's far from that simple now and has been for a few years now.

i meant the member had said he clocked a truck doing 67mph,i pointed out as his own car's speedo must read fast then the truck was travelling slower than that although possible over 56mph.

UK maybe but im guessing his Dad works in Ireland.
As my location would suggest
As for the age of the truck, i suppose its fairly old now, 91'.I think the same model was made up to 95 though.Still going like a beast. Clocked the biatch last year, just stopped at all 9's. Never had a clutch or gearbox change yet either.

Dont make em like they used to!

the clutch/box comment makes me think ERF but the Irish factor makes me think Scania.

for ref,for at least the last 4 or 5 years the speed limiter has been an integral part of the vehicles electrical systems...not a bolt on afterthought that the original speed limiters were upon their introduction in 1988.
you could bypass the old ones..pull the fuse...strategic use of kitkat silver paper....chewing gum...bent recording needles i've heard em all.
the newer versions are a lot harder although you can do it,it requires a laptop IIRC.

Scania all the way mate. Well not ALL the way. The newer ones are rubbish. And they really dont make them like they use to.
3rd fuse from the right in the fuse box. Disables the use of the cigarette socket aswell i think.

Tailgaters - luckily i can pop flames out my exhausts which makes them back off :D

Had some idiot in a Scenic up my 'bum' today on the way home from work. I was in the inside lane waiting to come off at the next junction which leads you down a dual carriageway.

Came off at the junction and it leads you into a nice sharp bend which I took while keeping my foot down. This damn Scenic did it too. Got onto the straight and had my foot almost flat to the floor... 80...90...100...110...

I decided to back off and pull in to let him past... bloody maniac :D Even gave him a thumbs up when he passed me... didn't even look at me, ignorant ****

You see Fox, yet another reason for my 'fast cars get you out of trouble' remark :p

People who don't move out of the middle/outside lane when it's clear, meaning I either have to sit behind them or risk undertaking them, I was going to undertake a car the other day but I thought I probably shouldn't as kept swerving over the lines

Tailgaters annoy me too, if I had a crap car and no insurance I'd be tempted to just slam on my brakes.

People not thanking you when you help them, so I don't stop to let people out anymore unless they are a hot young lady, if thats the case I make sure I stop for them lol.

People driving with fog lights on or with their lights aiming too high, that blinds me ya know!

People who pull out on you then accelerate very slowly to about 10mph under the limit, actually that is very annoying
