This Business and Moment...

Had a really random mix of a week so far... busy as anything, and contract/ day job really busy too, but mini wins (I live on mini wins, I need them to get me through!):

1. Met CEO of the company Ciright looking to license our emotion tech for massive projects of theirs
2. Setup he public administration under the president of Kazakhstan with emotuit analytics in Canvas.
3. Promoted our partner, Soneva, the #1 rated luxury resort in the world, and our exclusive offers just for VolAir, to our audience and all our jet partners customers
4. Published Cheese scanning app to Google Play Store as the start of the CHEEZUS world takeover
5. About to hit 400 subs on The Daily Hustle Show
6. Had an instagram influencer with over 85k followers agree to an interview for the youtube channel! (theRoxie on Insta, she's hot too)
7. Smashed out some amazing work at my day job, but really was nothing but it wowed them into thinking I'm awesome

And also, going for a beer in about 5 mins.

I was told about not getting a role once being cc'd in the email discussing me not getting the job and could someone tell me lol this was after being mugged off for an answer for ages as well. Good job I had come to the conclusion I didn't want the role, but you know. Bit of a dick move.

Just sent over some potential interview questions to Piers Linney from old Dragon's Den. I asked him if he would be interviewed on my YouTube and he asked me to send over the details of my questions and format etc. I've got about 4 different people lined up for the future, trying to get a real mix of people covering business, different social platforms such as youtube, instagram etc.

Anyone with any ideas or suggestions, let me know! I'm all ears.

Was asked to go to Monaco to meet the guy who owns Top Marques car show down there to discuss being a sponsor there. There and back in a day... did a little video of it:

Would be AMAZING to do. The press coverage is huge that you get (TV stuff, youtubers, big influencers, massive networking with some fantastic businesses for collaboration, and for customers) but now need to find some cash fast. I have about 2 months to try and fast raise about 50-75k... We haven't tried raising, but now it's a case of having an opportunity that will launch us extremely well, so need capital. I have been told I have no chance... so I'm going to do everything I can to prove everyone wrong.

Thanks! I would love to go back and see some of the place, that whole coast is amazingly beautiful. Might take the family and make it more than a day this time...

Music wise I use: www.musicbed.com which covers any music I want, but it's a paid subscription.

Tried with pure free stuff but it can still be a minefield with copyright.

I thought the very same @dowie! I'd be more than happy to slap a justin beiber song on my vid and share x% of all ad rev with him for it, but it doesn't exist... I was just thinking the very same thing the other day.

I pay a small monthly fee and link my channel to my profile, when I upload a vid a copyright claim normally comes in, but is then cleared by the service for me. I think it's all unknown music producers, so gets them a bit more out there too.

Kind of work related myself and a colleague got started on by a group of drunks tonight outside work - fortunately managed to get back inside again unharmed and then had to call the police as they spent a few minutes pelting the premises with rocks, mud and anything else they could get their hands on because we wouldn't come out and fight them - didn't seem to be directed at anything specific just a general and very violent outpouring of aggression. Unfortunately police busy with incidents in town (typical Saturday night) so they were long gone before police arrived.
That's a bit ****. Any CCTV footage?

The thing i now need to consider is what to do if i don't get the job. Do i actively look or remain where i am. I wasn't specifically looking when i was approached but it has made me consider what i want.

No harm in looking about is there? See what's on the market etc. going for interviews is a great way to find out what's going on outside of your place and great experience regardless.

Its been a rough 6 months, and I wouldn't want to go through it again, but I think I'm going to do alright out of it.
Sounds very much like it's going to work out, which is great. At least makes all the arse ache it's been for you a bit more worthwhile. It's nice to see a company react like that and make changes. So many companies talk a good game but nothing materialises.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, I knocked up the Cheezus site in about 30 mins and I want to replace it with a bit more of a useful site for impending first version, and a bit more traffic etc. What should I have on the site?

Basics I have are:
- About the app / basics of what it does
- download the app links
- social links
- contact us form
- blog posts and updates
- Sign up for updates
- how you can get involved (for producers and vendors etc)

Anything else I should have on the site? Ultimately I want it for people to be able to go, get updates, a point where people can learn about the app and stuff... am I missing anything? I'm just planning out the content and I'll palm it off to some random. I mean, how much can you mess up with a simple WP site? haha famous last words...

Just ordered 1000 cables for our new line of charger cables. That's a milestone as before we had only ever ordered 300-400 at a time. Happy with how things are progressing Still not able to leave the full time job yet but progress is progress. Plus managed to get a Christmas theme on the website too :p A bit more than xmas smilies :D

subbytech.com for some snowy scenes lol :)
Awesome! I love it when I see a side business growing, it's really cool. Keep it up dude.

I was getting annoyed. I wasn't seeing the speed of progress on Cheezus I wanted and didn't see anything. It's happening though... I got a video of the app working this morning. Yes, the info on the cheese needs to be worked on, and the pairings Db after that and many other things, BUT the machine learning on the cheeses is learning and working!

Pretty chuffed and it's starting to look like a real thing!

Looks good kind of reminds me of this

Oh it's the same tech. It's just the model is a lot more difficult as each cheese classes as a different object and each object can appear in many states of maturity. This means the data for each required object is massive. I think I worked out in an ideal scenario to cover all types of cheese in the world and all stages of maturity we'd need about 50m images of cheese, obviously evenly spread across each type of cheese (roughly 4k in the world and growing). That would see us about a 95% accuracy rate.

Yea, I learn a lot of **** about cheese and data science. :P

Small update; Got my apple dev account for Cheezus Ltd so we're getting close to being able to deploy on iOS too. Good step!

End of working year is upon us, how has it been for everyone?

I had a strange year but overall pretty good. Not as far along with everything I'm doing but still really good progress on things.
Got a new contract for next year as the ASM, which I hate as it's not even a proper ASM role and it's boring as **** and doesn't utilise me well at all but hey, they pays me.

Next year? I would like to get out this one app I've been working on, very quick turnaround job. Then get the same guy to do the redesign of the VolAir app in Q1. At the same time get Cheezus v1.0 out, I really like that one.
I've been trying to line up an internal role where I am as it'd be a step into product management, which is what I really love and I want some holiday and benefits. Will try and work that out and see if it's possible.
Just got an email from HR at Doodle asking if I was available for a chat in Jan. They're based in Zurich and the role is their Chief Product Officer. :o wouldn't suck on the old CV but the commute would.
