Took a bloke from A&E the other day who'd been stung on the hand/wrist by a wasp. He's a gardener and has been stung many times in the past with nothing but the usual discomfort, but this time was different. He lifted his dressings to show me and his fingers and his arm to the elbow were swollen to 2 or 3 times the normal size. Looked painful as ****.
Oof they seem to get worse over time I dread them now as they do something similar starts out as a red rash spot which then spreads and extends all the way up and down the arm and encircles the entire arm it is uncomfortable as **** takes about a week before it starts to settle down

Got bitten on the leg by something probably a mozzie which then proceeded to hurt like hell and started to turn a very angry red and swell up whatever it injected me with it was aggressive and spreading luckily still had some antibiotic cream left over from something else and that knocked it on the head quickly you can see how people get sepsis from mosquito bites. Damn things

The instant is from last night as got back at 1am from a heavy session of... Dnd! :D

As its winter and winter sucks I've joined a new Dnd group. But where we play I'd amazing.

Its a good group of 5+DM (surprise... 3 girls and 2 guys + me).

Taking to a mechanical engineer from a major jet turbine company. Who is trying to tell me a diesel engine doesn't have a power band....

A friggin jet engine engineer telling me that diesel engines don't follow the rules of physics.

The term engineer is too freely given these days

Worked at a massive store today. It’s just too big to walk about in the warehouse. Got customers who asked for things I don’t know where they are as I don’t usually visit this store. One example was evaporated milk. I said to them it’s by the tinned fruit in my store.

The store manager said that my store manager wants me back tomorrow. Probably missed me!

But on the app we use for schedules, booking holidays etc still says the massive store!

Fascinating.

Speaking to some distant relative at a family gathering who was showing off her newborn baby.

I said "he looks happy" and got a frosty glare with the response "she's a GIRL"

This is why we dress newborns in the correct colours, fool.

Oh yeah. The amount of times I've made that mistake when taking mother and newborn from delivery theatre recovery to 205/206. :p

I had to ask about my sisters new born.
I thought tactically I could ask the name.
Not "what's his name"
"what name did you pick"

Her response

"ari"... :(
"how do you pronounce that"

"like the subject R.E."... :(

Well that was impressive. Windows borked itself somehow still not sure what went wrong wouldn't boot at all just got "attempting automatic repair" and getting no further. Switched from UEFI to CSM which at least got the recovery console to appear did an "attempting to repair windows" which got it to boot but horribly broken. Managed to get into a browser to download and install windows installation media on a USB stick, did a repair install and less than 30 minutes later I'm back into windows and everything is hunky dory again. Creating the recovery media took longer than the actual repair. It even detects my new soundcard now. Woot.
