I was in Tesco buying some Lindt the expensive one with all the nuts like 4.90 a bar

My phone said I moved it too fast when paying, then it wouldn't scan my phone again after...

I tried turning nfc on and off, going back on the machine out of payment and back in... I was holding my phone at stupid angles tying to find some imaginary sweet spot where it works...
took me almost 5 minutes before it finally scanned my phone! security guard must have been watching me the whole time wondering if I'm simple and don't know how to pay by phone
I had cash on me but all the machines seem to be card only now

I'm going to assume the reader on that machine was faulty and didn't have a strong enough signal

Anyone else had problems with google/apple pay in shops? I've had it happen before but usually as soon as the you moved to fast message disappears then it works fine.
I always try to be careful with how I present my phone to the reader as well.

Money is the correct answer, good looks only matter if they want a bit of fun.

I hear a lot of people used to cosplay an airline pilot and go to hotel bars.
I guess that was like catfishing before catfishing existed on the internet.

I reported to the police that I had CCTV of a thief on camera and a clear image of their face. They are not interested in it. They haven't even linked it to a theft that happened the same night a few hundred meters away.

2 weeks later and they have finally asked for the footage. Not sure why they bothered at this stage tbh.

For about two years the flow valve, stopcock, whatever-you-call-it in our downstairs toilet hasn't worked properly. Every few months I've been bodging it back to functionality. Yesterday it finally broke completely. Took me ten minutes to fit a replacement. Easy job. Why do I never learn to just do these things properly in the first place?

When I was replacing a flush recently I found it had been taken apart and they'd home-made a new diaphragm. They'd also siliconed in the flush pipe when a rubber bung is £1.

Why spend so long on it, plumbing parts are cheap and easy to swap! That whole house has hidden bodges in it though.

Weird one, received a refund this morning for a GPU I purchased last year (Not OCUK but a well known retailer). GPU is currently sitting in my PC. Proper RMA number for a 'failed delivery', I can see the refund in my paypal. All emails appear genuine, trying to work out how i'm being scammed

I'd make sure you look up at it or you might miss a spot.

It was horrible,

I had to fill a crackline going across the ceiling, which meant filling and sanding, thus, i feel like I have shorted my life by about 8 years inhaling all the crap (I should have put on PPE, aka mask)

I still have a voucher from work for last years xmas, - £50,

one of these multi outlet vouchers where you choose the retailer

I have no idea what to use it on

Bought an opened but apparently never used UPS near by., missing the USB cable to connect it to PC :/

all the plastic protection was still on the UPS though and it powers on and powers my pc.

I thought I could steal the IEC 14 cable from my old pc..... there's no kettle lead plugged into it :@

I searched all my old pc retail boxes too and no kettle lead inside them..

would you believe argos don't even sell IEC 14 power cables...

seems they sell the data cable then I chan check the logs on the UPS and set it up properly.

What a year. Dead friend, dog attacked (but thankfully recovered), Dad died. My fiance lost her two cats in quick succession then adopted another who just died from something he had from the rescue centre that they couldn't make right and only showed 3-4 months into having him. Add a few other things on top and this is a year I am looking forward to moving on from. Can't say I usually feel this way, but a fresh year with a positive outlook and touch wood, a positive outcome, would really be nice.

Ramble into the void over and done with.
