This Instant And Moment - 2025!

I couldn;t get any pretrain card models to detect the cards in Balatro :/

So I've had to export the cards from the game, then chop the image files into slices so I have each individual card...
Then I trained a model to detect cards with that data..

It thinks the bounding boxes for detected objects are the whole screen..

Chatgpt tells me because I did that the model learned that each card takes up the whole image always.....

Chatgpt wrote me a script to put multiple cards in the same image with the correct label data... so I'm training that now :/

I thought balatro would be easiest game to write an ai for out of all the ones I have installed :/

just getting it to read the screen elements is crazy hard..

I extracted the custom fonts from the game too... guess I need to train a model for that as well....

@Tefal How did you find Japan?
Brilliant!

Got back Monday.

Need to organise all the photos, ate soo much food.

Tokyo and hakone where my favorites but we didn't see much of hakone just one little loop out spent most of the time relaxing in the thermal bath.

Kyoto was beautiful but ruined a bit by the sheer number of tourists and we stayed in a lovley little traditional house one road over from the Hōkan-ji Temple (Yasaka Pagoda) so we did a fair bit of the area at night when no one was around.

Emptied the airport vending machine of monster cubed as couldn't find a shop selling and have brought back a bunch of spices and miso and broth base and weird snacks.

Need to plan another trip now and see more of the country side.

Ha! nice to hear and your last sentence is the feeling most people get. They just can't wait to get back to explore more. Don't really get that with most other countries I've visited.

Kyoto is amazing...but the number of tourists just ruins the feel of it. There are others with similar vibe but slightly less touristy, however people have started to discover/go to them more now, need to go before they also blow up. I stayed not far away from Yasaka Pagoda both times, one time I could see it out of my hotel window. I think it has the country's tallest pagoda. It's a great place to see at night during Sakura/Fall season.

btw, monster cubed? Did you get the gacha bug too when you were there? lol

p.s. what did you think of the food?

Great “job” title from an Indeed ad:

Monster^3 little cans of tripple concentrated monster.

We didn't do much gatcha a couple at some of the tourist places but that was it.

I have a tori gate with a little white fox showing its butthole from the inaru shine lol.

Food was amazing, tried to try as many different things at one sushi place nearly had the full menu will post some pics once I've got them on the pc.

I want a soaking tub/wet room shower combo and a Japanese toilet now lol

One of the apartments we're looking at in italy has a big ugly jacuzzi tub already so I think it could be replaced and made to work

Nearly lost the end of my index finger this weekend!

Happened doing DIY Sat morning, the nail and skin laceration lifted off the area of nail and skin and was rather a lot of bleeding though no pain. Had to quickly apply pressure and wrap it in a bandage which allowed it to fuse back after 3 days. The doc said if I went to A%E that day then the healing bulk would have taken a week but now it will take several as the nail bed is damaged so the existing nail has to grow out which will likely reveal a permanent deformity

The white skin is now dead and will fall off eventually.

First major injury since slicing the other index finger as a child trying to cut an apple with a bread knife

Not worthy of its own thread, but I’ve had a real shock: a spontaneously burst pipe under the floorboards in our bathroom… leading to free flowing water down from our kitchen ceiling

Pretty glad we were around to catch it… imagine if you were on holiday and that happened *shudder*

Long story short had a water leak in one of our upstairs bathrooms a few weeks back - I was about to go to sleep and almost drifting off when I thought I could hear running water so fortunately checked as it was just starting to leak into the room below - if I'd gone to sleep and it had been going several hours it would have been a catastrophe. That room seems cursed - flooded at least once on the previous owner and that is the second time we've had something like that happen.

Happened to my brother. But the insurance payout was glorious, they wrote off everything in the kitchen and paid to replace it new-for-old from John Lewis. Got a newly refitted kitchen out of it too.

I wonder what combination of words makes youtube delete this comment.

VAT is no different to the taxes you pay in a US store.. the only difference is VAT is already in the price. A business can claim the VAT back on any expenses... people can't. It's not the same thing as tariffs
does it think vat is fat :S

the censorship on the internet is beyond bonkers, I only knew the comment got delete because I tried to edit in something about starbucks, but it gave an error because youtube had deleted the comment.
