One discord channel I go to ban political talk....fair enough, but in doing so, there are keywords that the bot picks up, including Clintons....can't say Clintons cards as I found out!

Maybe thinks you are using vat as a shortened vatnik slur.

YouTube's AI algorithm is ridiculous though - I've had a dozen or so perfectly reasonably comments deleted and/or suppressed by it and even account bans just because it can't actually distinguish between an innocuous comment and something actually offensive, often due to the AI making links between things no human would - even simple spelling mistakes or typos can trigger it into seeing what you've posted in a completely different way to how it actually is.

I got an account ban (later reinstated) for posting this:

My brother once decided to invest in a leather jacket with back armour for riding - few days later he had someone pull out on him at a junction, despite looking right at him, and had to put the bike down to avoid a collision, slid sideways into the curb - actually observed by a policeman who was convinced he'd find my brother badly injured or kill but instead walked away with just minor bruising thanks to the quality of his kit. My brother stopped riding after that.

Also fortunate it was observed by a policeman or the driver would have got away with it.

Appears that me mistakenly typing kill instead of killed in that sentence, along with the proximity to policeman, made all the difference and triggered the AI...

the censorship on the internet is beyond bonkers, I only knew the comment got delete because I tried to edit in something about starbucks, but it gave an error because youtube had deleted the comment.

On that subject though, the fact that the price you see isn't the price you pay in the USA and you have to do mental maths on the go when shopping if you have a specific amount of money to spend is absolutely insane.

But probably one of the most sane things about that hellhole right now...

The reason I was absent for a few years. I got tired of reading the opinions of people who would have voted the wrong way in 1930s Germany.

Oh and because the Motors section was full of extremely toxic and argumentative people. It seems to have mellowed out a bit now!

I spend a tonne of time in Canada these days which is the same way. Maybe it's being disillusioned enough that 13% on day to day spending is enough to not have to think about, but I can't think of a single time it's been an issue
 
Was going to head down to the local RC track tonight, couldn’t be bothered in the end.

More positive note, I went to Bannatyne’s for a tour today. Mainly want to start swimming and maybe a spin class 2/3 times a week, but maybe use the gym if they can teach me.

I think I’ll sign up.
 
Putting a claim in to claw back some of the cost of my root canal and upcoming crown. I thought I could claim back £450 for each treatment, I can't. It's £450 maximum per year for restorative treatments. :(
