This is why people are losing respect for the police...

So you accept there have been thousands of arrests then?
They were not arresting those people at the time that videos show the public had to take action. The police should have dragged them off the road. But the public did their job for them.

In contrast to what happened in London, the approach was completely different, so therefore a double standard.

The arrests you promote were mostly after the protests.

It was if the policy was to let them have their fun and disruption and we'll arrest them later.

To be fair whilst many on here ‘fell’ for the it looks a bad video. The tik tok generation perhaps. The facts behind the video were clear at the time and yet duly ignored so the police brutality narrative could be played out.

So you agree with the point I was making.

Which has literally nothing to do with:

Why are you sticking up for violent scumbags? Why do you care if such people get a taste of their own medicine? Do you cry when a gang member gets stabbed?

You do get that witnessing things is evidence, right? Videos from social media are evidence.

How does a video prove something not happening? Unless you have video footage of literally everything all the time, then all it proves is that whatever you are claiming didn't happen just didn't happen in shot and at that precise moment.

At least you now acknowledge arrests were made, its a start...

It seems the police were arresting people to move them. Then de-arresting them later.

They even arrested GB News presenter Martin Daubney.

I think it's important to recognise being arrested in the UK doesn't have the same implication as it does in the US.

We've got plenty of footage of the police kneeling during the BLM protests...not arresting people.

IIRC most of the BLM protests in the UK were very peaceful with little violence.
Meanwhile team Tommy have a long and not very varied history of their "protests" being little more than an excuse to beat other people up (including the police).

It's almost like the police vary their tactics depending on the actions and known past behaviour of the people involved, and have learned from the past that it's often better to arrest people later if they're not an immediate threat.

Well that's contradicted by posts above claiming the police arrested loads of people during the BLM protests. Which absolutely were not peaceful with huge amounts of criminal damage for a start.

Reacting differently to people based upon previous experience? Sounds a bit like prejudice. I thought that was bad? Wouldn't let the BLM lot see you saying that!

No they weren’t, at all.
Why on earth would anyone think otherwise?
I still remember that poor police woman who was nearly decapitated by a traffic light after a BLM scumbag threw a bike at her horse.
I also remember the BBC reporting that she’d knocked herself off her horse.
I cancelled my license at that very point.
Edit
Just seen an above post which seems to imply BLM good, TR bad (not that I’m disagreeing about his past mo).

Really?

Two officers were seriously injured, including a Mounted Branch officer who was knocked from her horse when it hit a set of traffic lights whilst appearing to bolt.

You think they were implying she knocked herself off her horse?

There seems to be a lot more protests being organised around the country. The nearest city to me has one called "enough is enough" planned for Friday at 7pm outside the city hall. Tens of thousands have joined the group, had a quick look at it out of curiosity before leaving because many of the messages are difficult to read due to the level of spelling and grammar on display and every other message mentions Muslims or anyone of a different colour.

We'll see how many actually show up, hopefully the police are prepared.

Has anyone seen anything similar in their area?

It was reported (then later changed) that she knocked herself off her horse.
I watched the news article live when it was reported.
The video showed a person lobbing a bike at the horse which then freaked out.

Convenient.

I know it was hit by a missile, but can't find any footage showing a bike hitting it.

All that seems to be available is just as it bolts and her being knocked off.

Considering the sizes of those marches the amount of disorder was much lower. Seems the few hundred of these 'enough is enough' types that are protesting are actually just out for a brawl.

It could be argued that if you don't police something aggressively you won't get the number of injuries/arrests..

There is no denying the violence during the BLM riots, yet:
2020 BLM Riots "Met Police make 41 arrests .. amid violent clashes over weekend" (BBC)

The counter protestors that turned up to protect a statue:
2020 BLM Counter Protestors "More than 100 arrests after violent clashes with police" (BBC)

They turned up to get drunk and start trouble.

One of them valiantly urinated on a memorial to a dead policeman.

The thing is, unless you were there, or more importantly, have seen the footage of all these arrests and what led up to them, or have the reports of them, you cannot say for sure whether they were justified or not.

I'm seeing comments all over social media this morning from people screaming about two-tier policing because of a few short clips they've seen.

It's nonsense to claim that "our dog crap police force currently arresting pretty much anyone" after watching one or two short clips of arrests from last night's events.
