This is why people are losing respect for the police...

The cop was wrong for telling the guy to " off", as cops, you need to be better than these types of people. Also cops are human too and mistakes happen. We also haven't seen the unedited version ;)

There should be a law against filming government buildings such as Police stations, Military bases etc - something more substantial than having to believe the person is a terrorist.

Coming out of police stations you can have CHIS, victims of crime, identifying police personal vehicles etc. For military bases, you could be filming SF personnel, or persons families.

Worse case, the person filming could be a bad guy and carrying out hostile recon ie weak points, shift changeover timings etc. It a well known TTP for bad guys to carry out recon, trial runs etc.

All of the above, creates an extra risk, so why allow it?

The people who do this so called "auditing" are usually either losers or those with a chip on their shoulders about something, why the hell would any normal person wander the country filming sensitive locations in an obvious manner if not to promote a confrontation? It's not something any normal person would waste their time and energy on. When they garner a reaction they act surprised and affronted. They need holding for 48 hours in a cold cell until they can be "audited" themselves ;)

These auditors are tools trying to provoke a reaction from the police. They are also well within the law to film anything they can see from a public place. The police need to be educated re the auditors rights in this matter. Some police officers seem to forget that they are basically public servants protecting the public and seem to think they are some kind of enforcers of justice Judge Dredd style. Somehow above the general public. It's amazing how a lot of them resort to the only manner they can arrest these people, which is under the prevention of terrorism act. An act that has to date resulted in the conviction of 0 terrorists. If the police didn't react, these fools would have nothing to show on their youtube channel.

The guy is an idiot trying to get views on his Youtube channel, the Police were unprofessional. If a customer comes into a shop with a bit of attitude you can't just tell him to **** off because you were having a bad day, people need to be professional while they're at work.

If the customer is potentially risking the lives of your or your colleagues I'd encourage it!

Even if he's just trying to provoke a reaction he should be free to do his 'audit' in a free country, he's not doing any harm.
Exactly this. I haven't seen this video (the link is now removed) and a lot of these 'auditors' act like total prats trying to get a reaction for their youtube channel. But that doesn't change the fact that it is completely legal to film in a public space (with a few small exceptions). We should ensure that our freedoms and liberties are protected, even if someone wants to act like a plank.

A free and open society is an ongoing conflict and to continue to live in a "free and open society" there has to be a respect for the law and the opinions of others. That works both ways.
No laws were broken, that's the point.

Sorry I'm wrong actually, the police broke the law by using profanity, but they were the only ones in this instance.
