Thor: Love and Thunder

I think we need to get used to the target audience of these films, my lads loved it but as an adult, a big fat meh, my stupid humour meant the screaming goats were the best bit, although it's probably funnier than most actual comedies out there.
We live in a world where films are mostly terrible nowadays, so its hardly surprising.
Also how much did G n R spend to get songs on the soundtrack?

The MCU films have always been just “good” and everyone can enjoy them. They have never been targeted purely at children outside a few things. Ignoring their adult audience, many of whom have been with marvel for years now would be very stupid.
 
I'm going to have to rewatch some of the earlier ones. I hated Captain America back in the day.
Most of the origin films are ok.. it's the ensemble ones that are stand out
When gotg first dropped that really broke the mould and is still my favourite.

I'm sure everyone is way over peak superhero saturation now. Comedy, failed comedy at least is something new even if it fails for some.

Phase 4 is garbage, as is most of the Disney+ output

We badly need something new....
 
I actually quite enjoyed the last Dr Strange film after it got some pretty bad reviews so thought this would be the same (and really liked Thor Ragnarok) but yeah, this was very disappointing.
I think when they add kids into the mix it always makes a film a lot worse too.
Glad I didn't pay to see this at the cinema that's fo sho..
 
Not as terrible as I was expecting (perhaps that helped!)....but still waaaayyyy short of what a decent Marvel movie should be.
It was frustrating to watch overall.....Thor is a fantastic character, and he is so wasted here compared to some of his highlight moments from past movies. There were some moments in it I really liked and they felt like little flashes of what this film could have been. Too much not to like though; the silly and constant comedy, Jane / 'Thor', lack of Gorr, way too much valkyrie (uninteresting character and terrible actor).

Such a shame. I think this was a touch better than Dr Strange, or at least the same. 5/10. Taika can do one!..his success in recent years has gone to his head and in to his work....I don't want him on board any future Marvel movies. Is the last remaining hope for this phase GoTG3?!..... James Gunn still knows what he's doing.
 
will be interesting to see what Taika does with star wars. I suspect its gonna be slapstick too :/

I really liked him in Ragnarok. Used the right amount. Enjoyed the humour and then like absolutely everything in L&T they just dialed it up to 11 and completely ruined it. They didn’t just turn everything up to 11 they also completely removed any intelligence or wit from any of the jokes.

I really struggle to believe that Waititi actually wrote a lot of it. It felt like a **** fan fiction based on Ragnarok.
 
Ragnarok did it's job. It was different and brought a whole host of new fans to these films. Even my old mother in law loved it and got into watching Marvel films from it. And now all the TV series.

But it's now spawned everyone of these to have stupid humour all the time. I don't mind the strong female characters, I hate what they have done to the male characters. The hulk and Thor in particular. Ant-Man was a different type of movie in the beginning, a bit silly but it stood alone. Now it's all like that. I too watched Dr Strange 2 for the first time today and found that one of the better phase 4 films.

I mean the same guy made ragnarok as this drivel and he couldn't even remember he said Korg had a mother in Ragnarok but in his excitement to LGBT up love and thunder, gave him two dads. He couldn't even get the continuity across two of his own films. It's not that it's a kids movie, even my 13 year old who adores these films thought it was utter pap.

It's a crap movie but that's a weird thing to be bothered about.

Maybe two dad's create new life but in their society they have a more than two parents or something

It's a made up comedy rock character.

Or it just shows how utterly lazy they were with any lack of continuity. Or just come up with dumb stuff like Thor creating an army of mini thors. He couldn’t think to do that before?
 
Still like it tbh loll. Def the worst of the thors but prob not the worst of the marvels
Korg is like the best character in the movie, how can anyone hate him haha
Bale was good in this though, took me back to his batman days

Because, like everything in the film, they just kept on making the same joke again and again and again and with seemingly little thought to making them witty. The screaming goats are a classic example of it. Haha, look at these funny screaming goats. Yeah, look at them again, still screaming isn't that even funnier? What about a few more times?
