Thor: Love and Thunder

went to see it last - granted not a massive marvel fan (i.e. fanboy)
overall enjoyed the film, pacing of the film may of been off - i.e. reduce act 1 & 2 by 10 mins, and 10mins to final act
but more than happy with the run time (most marvel films have just been too long lately)

Its looking like a box office drop of around 68% for the second week which, whilst inline with other Phase 4 films, is still a bigger drop than almost all Phase 1-3 films.

However its made a respectable $498 million so far, although the increase in ticket prices does help hide a lower than expected amount of actual ticket sales.

I don't see this being a "Billion Dollar" film for Marvel/Disney, maybe around $700-800m which is still a nice profit. It'll be the next Thor film which shows how angry Thor fans were/weren't with this one, similar to Solo vs TLJ etc.

Surely if your example is true, it would be the next movie that would suffer - Which is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

I watched it last night. I suspect its been released digitally and that's why a lot of new comments on it. Definitely the worst Marvel film I've ever watched. Wasn't funny but was trying way to hard to be. Crap story, 3/10 at best.

That’s the worst part of it. It’s trying so damn hard. It’s like the kid at school who isn’t funny but is just relentlessly unfunny and won’t stop.
Yeah it was such a disappointment.

I've really enjoyed most Taika Watiti movies
I really enjoyed Thor: Ragnarok
I like comedy Thor.

But it just didn't work for me at all.

Yeah, how they ****** it up is quite amazing.

Watched it again now it's on Disney+. Going from 7/10 to 6.5/10.

Second time round I enjoyed the whole Jane and Valkyrie scenes a lot more. Sadly I liked Gorr less. The jumping between creepy, camp, funny, serious really didn't work for his character. Zeus is just as unfunny both vocally and character wise the 2nd time round. The kids were more annoying and I realised how comedy stupid it was when he gives them all his powers at the end.

General story is still good and I will still watch it a 3rd time at some point :)

I'd order them from best, Thor Ragnorak, Thor 1, love and thunder, dark world.

Edit: just watched the deleted scenes above. Seems they had a slight variation planned originally where Zeus isn't "bad" (although not pure either!).

Not a Marvel fan at all, and this movie epitomises every reason why.
Acting was awful, it was almost like they wanted to make it a full on comedy.
Didn't think Bale would sink to such levels given his talents.
Crowe as Zeus was awful.
Trying to think of anything remotely positive.

This was disappointing after Ragnarok.

I mean i was entertained, but it also felt so hollow and pointless. A lot of little 1 liners but not much substance at all. The section in the Omnipotent City felt rushed and short, vs say when the Guardians went to Knowwhere (the Collector).

I don't think this movie moved along the whole Marvel Universe arch much if at all either

I mean Jane was just a normal human anyway, had they not pulled her back in, and left her behind from Dark World. Thor and his little Asgard town would be fine, there isn't anything different, besides now they have Zuse' thunder weapon

A forgettable movie.

I'd take a half failed comedy attempt over the bland generic marvel cookie.

Different strokes for different folks.

Rotten tomatoes review accumulation sites share my view. Both are naff.
