Thunderstorms - 2017

Some of the realtime lightning map sites are bombing out trying to handle the level of activity + history of the last hour or so lol.
 
It's been some sort of crazy rave outside for over 30mins now in TN6. I'd quite like to actually sleep :(
 
Holy crap, by far and away the most impressive storm I've seen In the UK. Huge forks now and the dirtiest loudest crackles of thunder ever, just epic, bloody biblical this lol.
 
Well this is brightening up my night shift in more ways than one! Seems to be on top and all around us. Saw it approaching from the Southampton area and it finally got to us at 1am and still hasn't left. A great thing to watch & see, although you've seen them before you can never seem to get tired of a thunder storm.
 
Crazy bright lightning here all night since about 9.30pm. Was about every 4 seconds but slowed right down now. Rumbling thunder, not too loud, but may get louder.
 
Storm just hitting Medway. Woke me up about 15 mins ago, can't get back to sleep now as the lightning is so frequent! Must be a strike every 3 or 4 seconds.
 
This is quite something. I've never seen such persistent heavy rain or lightning strike so frequently. It's absolutely bonkers.
 
Best storm I've ever seen, it really is. Had a thunderbolt or whatever they called touch down within a mile I think, was so big and fat the lightning bolt, holy crap was like a bomb going off. Hope it didn't hit a house or anything.

It's insane. All the flashes are coming from the left of my house now, so it's going your way still. Rain's practically stopped now thank god.

Mental totally biblical. I've been stood at my window since 01:40 Watching this go off big time, never seen anything like this in the UK.
 
Was a good lightshow again just outside of Hastings. The one a couple months back was all south of my house which was almost all blocked, the clouds were lighting up like a strobe light back then but saw very little fork lightning as my house faces west and east. Tonight a lot of it was north of Hastings and west of me, saw some absolutely insane lightning, some incredibly large ones, some clustered together, some massive long fork lightning stretching across the skyline, bits of everything.

Still got to find a way of driving up to the Hastings cliffs during a lightning storm as I have a feeling the view all around but particularly the lightshow out to see would be amazing.
 
The weather last night was incredible. Not in my life have I seen such a mix of madness in the Harrow, Middlesex area!

9-11pm was a mix of heavy rain and hail that partially flooded our street.

11pm - 4am was just insane lighting flashes behind clouds. I kept expecting little UFO's to appear. I ended up sticking my 6P out of the window and recording a few timelapses and slomo's (currently uploading to YouTube).

It was that bad in Ipswich it knocked out the power to a supermarket,everything went black for about 2 mins then our generator kicked in,must have been pretty bad :)
