Some of these bangs must be incredible close up - had a barrage of them about 13 miles away and was loud and could feel them even! some of the ones I'm hearing are almost 30 miles away! (normally you wouldn't hear thunder much beyond 10 miles let alone this clearly).

Rain has just got much heavier over me in Wandsworth, sadly I think my view of the lightning is blocked by the houses on the other side of the road

Getting some crazy lighting now, before could only hear thunder, but it isn't near me at all - the scale of it must be colossal.

EDIT: Holy **** wish I had that on video - fork lighting hitting the ground well over 10 miles away but huge thick streaks from cloud to ground - again scale of it was something else.

And here in Bedfordshire we have only had rain for about 15 minutes. Just now the room lit up - with the curtains closed!

In shepherd's bush there were large downpours, lightning every 5 seconds, but the storm was far away, I figured south around Morden or further. Can't imagine what it must be like to be under that.

Remnants of it seem to be moving north - even right on the very periphery of it here it was pretty impressive.

Absolutely insane here over the past 30 minutes here near Swindon, utterly torrential rain for an hour or so and lightning hit the village several times knocking the power out. Probably the closest lightning I've ever experienced, sounded like a bomb going off outside.

Thankfully moved away now with zero sign of the storm remaining, also didn't wake kids up somehow

Clap of thunder just woke the whole house up. Partner was awake anyway and she said flash looked like it hit on our land or somewhere close. Just checking outside to make sure nothings melted or on fire lol.

Surprised the horses in the stables haven't gone mental with that one.

E: We've still got power but looks like the farms down the road are all off and guys out with torches

Went for a slash at 1am and was entertained by some impressive lightning and an absolute downpour. North London.

Then stuck my earplugs back in and went to bed.

Not a sausage here in Medway. Several times this year the met office have promised me epic thunderstorms, and they haven't been delivered. Who do I need to speak to about this?
