I'm on the fens and it was a proper downpour but most of thst lot passed us by. There is something about Spadling eveytime we've had storms recently it seems to get most of the lightning.

Probably something to do with it being far enough from the coast to spawn good lightning storms. I'm from Boston originally and have family there and I dont think i ever remember really violent/strong lightning storms when i lived at home

Yup live just a bit south east of Peterborough on your top map there, it was mental, been a long while since I seen weather like that, peoples car alarms were going off.
Brightened up again a bit now.

No thunder here but it absolutely lashed it down for 2 lots of 15 mins.
Enough to put over 50 litres of water into my ½ full 100l water butt from a shed roof of roughly 8m² (total) just with the first 15 min downpour. The rest went down the overflow system I hooked up to drain it away.

Really dark in our lounge as if it's sunset, fairly heavy rain and just had our first clap of thunder a bit earlier than forecast.
