How the hell can you hide a body in a house that the Police have searched with dogs etc for 5 days with no one knowing, makes no sense to me.

Ive been thinking the same thing, if the body has been in the house for 7 days, with all this hot weather as well, surely the smell would be terrible, especially in such a small house?

How can anybody not notice the smell? that includes all the family members and police in the house.

The other way to look at this is if the body was moved, but with all the press camped outside with police, surely this would be near on impossible.

Im no criminologist, but after watching the 10 min interview of the suspect, he looks very guilty, i suspect the police knew that after they seen the interview

I think there will be more to come out in the next 24 hrs

I think the police had a fair idea before his TV interview

nah, she was never kidnapped or went missing - must have met a horrid last Friday, how could her body be smuggled into the house given the amount of attention?

Seems that way but she could have been kept in the house I guess. They brought in the officers that dealt with Shannon Matthews so I think they must have known it was on the cards in some way.

Thanks, does seem that they would have found a body if it was a cadaver dog, but perhaps they didn't have access to somewhere or didn't look.

Probably hidden in fabric of property I.e floors/walls so maybe only a dog would find the body, or the forensic team started ripping place apart, very dodgy

Theres no way they could have hidden this from a dog. i watched a mythbuster episode and the dog found everything under every circumstance with every possible distraction, cover smell, and sealed containers.

Only possible is incompetence from the police force or human error, no way two returds fooled a dogs nose.

I heard reports she was found in the attic? agreed, not much gets past a dogs nose but if its 10feet above its head coupled with an officer expecting a runaway the signs/opportunity could easily have been missed.

A prison for a criminal leaves the whole world in debt.

Not really, even accounting for globalisation its highly unlikely that debt in outer Mongolia is related to someone in the UK being sent to prison.

Anyway its not a death penalty thing.

It's probably the case the Police looked outside the family before inside it, at least to start with. The number of searches that found nothing is quite high. But perhaps he had planned a hiding place or something, though he doesn't appear to be about to split the atom.

Sounds like the police were waiting to play their ace card, or got tipped off. clearly something must have come up for them to suddenly send 20 suited and booted officers to the property like that. they must have been pretty sure they were gonna find something, maybe caused by what they found/took away in the morning?

pretty gross really, what a horrible situation.

Not on topic...well kinda is...Ish

I used to work at the school that Shannon Matthews went to. :o

Even saw the parents waiting at the reception shortly after she'd gone missing.

Scummy *******

What age is the granny?
Trying to work out the family setup here.

They spoke of her step-father, and her mother, but she had been staying with her granny, and the grannys partner was 37? Is that right? The guy who has been arrested is 37?

This is why he was being pushed into the press, standard police tactic.

The police have talked about this before; they mentioned it first from what I remember in the Tracie Andrews 'road rage' case. They choose the individual to make a public appeal, statement or interview on for the purpose of forensic analysis of their reactions. The questions posed are deliberately designed to provoke reactions that help find people who are lying, additional pressure from the fact that the piece will be aired on TV works against the liar.

No, the dogs can and do miss things.
