'Everything is under mud': At least 389 killed in flash flood disaster in Nepal

The US Geological Survey says "glacial collapse" triggered the wall of water and mud that tore through Nepal and Tibet. Hundreds of people are still missing.

The footage coming out is terrifying, hundreds dead, probably thousands based on the video footage going around.

[Uther]

Yeah that's horrible, like something out of a disaster movie. Going to be a lot of deaths I think.

[Mujja]

Wow, I wasn't expecting that. Nowhere to run and take shelter from that.

[fez]

Bloody hell. Thats horrific.

[VaderDSL]

**** that's horrific, there's another angle on a video as well that I think shows the view of where they are running towards, they are all dead no way they survived.

That is painful to watch. Feel sorry all those who have lost their lives.

[COYS]

Bloody hell that looks horrifying and nowhere to hide

The one with the bus station getting washed away? Yes, they're all dead.

[iamgigglz]

That's absolutely surreal - like something out of a movie. Terrifying.

[LiE]

JFC, that's mental. RIP, don't think many are surviving that.

[UTmaniac]

Holy cow!

[RxR]

The height of the water / mud was extraordinarily bad.

[LiE]

It looks apocalyptic.

Mother nature flexing. That is horrific. How does that even happen that it goes from nothing to the other extreme without a gradual build up - burst bank or dam further upstream?

Earthquake -> avalanche.

[Maccy]

Jesus that's quite something

[Voron]

Holy smoke, that's terrifying, those poor people.

Mod note - please don't embed videos of people dying. They are widely available to find elsewhere if people want to see it

[Droolinggimp]

Terrible. Just found out on X and a video showed people running and the water literaly mowed down multi story buildings and dragged them over the poor souls trying to run away. Damn.

[MostlyHuman]

I've seen plenty of vids of flash floods and they are terrifying. This though was simply on a different scale of destruction. My thoughts with the friends of families of the lost.

RIP to those who lost their lives
