Time Capsule

It wouldn't even need to be a powered hub, as the printer and MyBook both have their own power.

how does it connect to a router? i have a netgear rangemax one and tha is connected straight to the phoneline, how do i connect that to the time capsule? using an ethernet cable out of one of the 4 ports on the router?

so in that case you will have two wireless networks? am i correct one from the router and one from the airport box? and could just disable the netgear one, am very tempted by one of these, as my external HDD is bursting

Does anyone know if it would be able to stream movies etc to an Xbox 360 without then need for any other PC/Mac being on?

AFAIK, no.

Because you need to install Bonjour on Windows system to communicate with the base-station/HDD, so unless you can install Bonjour on the 360 (or some kind of work around), no way yet.

I tried using a USB 2 HD on my Airport Extreme, resulted in 3Mb/s write.

Totally useless!

I hope this way would be able to max a gigabit connection, but I'd rather get a NAS as I dropped Time Machine about 2 weeks ago.

Did you set the transfer rate to 11?

It's on 4 by default.

several manufacturers make server grade 7200rpm hard drives. They're typically used in SANs to provide low cost, high capacity enterprise storage. They're labled as server grade due to a higher MTBF rating than desktop drives.

Very interested in one of these. Wanted to buy a 802.11n device and was looking at the airport extreme, may plump for this instead.

Couldn't resist any longer..

Anyone heard if this comes with the 802.11n enabler like the Airport Extreme?

Ta. :)
All modern macs are already "enabled".

If you have a pre-santa rosa Mac then yes, the enabler is bundled.
