Tinnitus who suffers from it

Yea, i can hear mine 24/7. Doesn't matter if music on or washing machine etc, i can still hear it! I have lived with it for nigh on 30 years now so i am used to it but lately it has been getting me down. I will go for a Syringing at doctors when i get back from holiday.

A mate who had tinnitus looked on youtube and apparently cured his by massaging his cheeks and behind his jaw where it meets the neck, worth a try iyam as folk tell me it's hell.

Tinnitus who suffers from it?

I thought Quasimodo AKA The Hunchback of Notre-Dame suffered from it - Charles Laughton was a "dead ringer" in the 1939 film of the same name.

I suffer from tinnitus brought about from being in the battalion shooting team long before ear defenders were issued, by then the damage was already done. The wife shouting in my ear for the past twenty years hasn't improved matters, nor has listening to Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple on my MP3 player.

I just ordered a Syringe kit from Amazon to help clear the skip load of wax in my ear as it always gets worse when it is full of the gooey stuff!!

I suffered from it in my left ear for several years , all of a sudden it went don't know when it went as I was so used to it that it wasn't till I was lying in bed one day and thought about it for a second that i realised it was gone.

That is what I hope happens to me one day!

Its strange as only now, in the last couple of months has it really started to annoy me a little. I am sure it is meant as a reminder for me to pump the wax out!

Yup I've had it for about 5 years or so, mostly due to playing in too many bands and going to gigs with stupidly high sound levels. I don't really notice it until the house gets quieter in the evenings, then its very noticeable. Sounds like a high pitch ringing a bit like someone running their finger around a crystal glass only higher pitch.

Day to day it doesn't cause me any issues, it can be more annoying when I have a cold or flu but thats thankfully pretty rare,

I have it too. Not too bad yet, I can't really hear it in the day, but come night it's very noticeable. I've never had issues sleeping so it doesn't worry me too much.

With that said I'm only 26 so I'm taking steps to try and avoid it getting much worse and dealing with it badly for the next 60 years or so.

I only really hear it in a very quiet environment. I got some amitryptiline from my GP to help me sleep through those times. When I have a cold it goes away

Mine is starting to get more noticeable in noiser situations now. Like if I'm in the bedroom and my gf is in the living room with the TV on I can hear the pulsating, though its fine when I'm in work and some nights its fine like last night but right now it's just whomp whomp whomp... Maybe if I stop my heart from beating I'll have some silence... There's an idea.

I have it a little only notice when its quite, thought it was getting really bad before bed time... after a few weeks or maybe even months I realised my Samsung note 3 charger (original) was adding to the problem with a high pitched wine!!!

Any of you tinnitus sufferers ever tried this?

Jordanistan on Reddit said:
Place the palms of your hands over your ears with fingers resting gently on the back of your head. Your middle fingers should point toward one another just above the base of your skull. Place your index fingers on top of you middle fingers and snap them (the index fingers) onto the skull making a loud, drumming noise. Repeat 40-50 times. Some people experience immediate relief with this method. Repeat several times a day for as long as necessary to reduce tinnitus.

I saw this post and upvoted it to look at another time. I was going to try it but everyone commented after saying it only lasted tens of seconds.

I'll give it a go later, did you try?

I've not got it to try thankfully, was just interested if anybody else had :)
