Yeah, it is an excellent value machine, especially with the Blu-Ray and overclockable CPU (you can take the 2.5GHz up to 2.9ish) but see the thread below, it appears to be a model that is out of stock everywhere and may not be coming back into stock. I am sorry I didn't buy one before when they were available more widely.
 
Yeah thats why I'm a bit more dissapointed about it than normal - I can get it elsewhere for roughly same price but without the warranty and it is also available elsewhere but for the extra price they are charging there are other options :S

No, I realised I don't have PM functionality on this forum, just assumed I did :D

I know of a few other retailers, but the £997 base price on OcUK is very tempting, I have not been able to find anywhere quite as good, plus the default 2-year warranty. Just I am a bit impatient, I dont want to wait around for a long time not knowing when it will ship ;)

I've had my preorder in for a while now...was originally coming for the day before my birthday, then it slips, now there's no ETA.
Does anybody have any idea what the hold up is? Are the clevos held up at sea, or are they in the country?
 
I've seen 3 ETAs come and go so I just got fedup and cancelled my pre-order...

They are apparently available, a friend of mine says he can get the chassis through work if I wanted but I'd still have to source parts :(, so not sure what the hold up is at OcUK.
 
That's just it. I think the parts could be sourced, only the processor would be a problem (expensive, but I have seen a t9900 going), so I don't get what the hold up is. The problem is that I can't see anywhere else that offers the same value for money if you load the laptop with the more expensive options.
