I doub't i'd overclock, So if i don't overclock it, will it keep cool?

Your other post made me laugh "It doesn't have a cooler" LOLZ

The Krypt has the AMD stock cooler, we don't list it as it is a given on a system which isn't overclocked. The stock cooler is just fine and keeps the chips temps down. No need to worry about it melting/exploding etc.

So I guess I'll just go with the Krypt so i can upgrade it later, now the question is, What GFX card goes best with the Krypt? 5770? Or the GTX460 768 mb? (Can't go higher than the GTX460)

Sorry for this triples post, Just wanting to bump this thread so i can get more opinions, i should be buying in a couple weeks!! :D

Anyway, how much delivery charge do OCUK ask for, for next day delivery? I seen briefly delivery charge was £15, but i'm not sure if that was for next day delivery or a 3-5 day delivery.

Thanks.

The reason it's just an extra 7$ is because the 5770 is a 1GB and that GTX 460 is 756mb, the 1gb gtx 460 is an extra 30$.

But the GTX 460 is still a hell of a lot better, you can overclock it to almost the performance of a GTX 470, which is better then a 5850 and blows a 5770 out of the water.

You can always upgrade to a i5 quad-core later on. They'll be dirt cheap once the next gen comes on.

Mobo not really SLI / Crossfire (x8-x4). So a good GFX card will give you more in the long run (GTX 460 1024MB).

Yeah i will definatley be looking for upgrading sometime next year.

As long as the Krypt with GTX 460 768mb, Can play most games at low-medium settings with at least over 25 FPS lol.

Yeah it'll be more than capable :) if you can afford it then the extra for a 1Gb card is definitely worth it. I have own some GTX 275's with 896Mb VRAM, and I find that it's a little on the low side sometimes, especially when playing certain games (GTA IV springs to mind, to name just one).

I'll try, although i don't like the thought of having to install it myself, since it isn't an option as a GFX upgrade on the Krypt, I'll have to buy it separately.

I keep changing my mind!! lol

I've settled on the Krypt, but not the GFX card. It's between...

Radeon HD 5770 1GB
GTX 460 768 MB
Radeon HD 5830 1GB

What do you think is the better GFX card?

Thanks!!

Still the GTX 460 :p you could ask OcUK to put the 1GB version in for you, I can't imagine why they wouldn't.

The 768MB version is still better than the other cards though.

GTX-460-43.jpg

Just found this Benchmark, (I won't be playing Dirt 2, but I'm sure the FPS differences would be similiar on other games)

And it looks like the GTX 768mb takes the other 2 cards to school! Guess i'll just got with the GTX, I'll try and see about the 1GB, but if it's not possible, the 768mb one out performs the others! Thanks a lot guys! :D

It's one bench among others. But the GTX 460 is in the same ballpark as the 5850 - 5830. It's a good card, so is the 5850, but it's more expensive. Basically, between the Palit GTX 460 Sonic 1024MB, or the XFX 5850.

What is the overclock potential of this system? Is it possible to overclock the CPU and also have the option to overclock the Graphics Card? Would a higher voltage power supply be needed, and also additional fans? In addition, what can the AMD Athlon II X4 Quad Core 635 2.90GHz Processor be overclocked to?

System Specification
- Case: Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black
- Power Supply: Corsair Extreme 600W
- CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 Quad Core 635 2.90GHz Processor
- Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-US2H AMD 760G (AM3) Motherboard
- RAM: Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9
- Hard Drives: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
- Graphics Card: Radeon 5770 (1024)
- Sound: 7.1 Channel Sound (On-Board)
- Optical Drive: OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black)

Cheers,

Steve.

600w is plenty

600W would be enough to run an overclocked i7 and overclocked GTX480
and they are both more power hungry than that system
