Titanfall 2

I use lgion cause it's my main in pvp but scorch is probably the best for FD. Suppose that makes up for how bad it is in pvp
Yeah I've carried on in Scorch, the damage it deals in the tighter maps is ridiculous and I'm consistently highest with damage now. I'll probably level it up and then play Legion as I've never really learned how to use it properly.

Scorch bad in PvP? You just need to kit him out right. Gotta have Turbo and improved flame shield, then use your AoE to set up situations where you can get up close. I don't think anything nukes a full strength titan quicker than scorch, gone in a few seconds :)
Core with Scorch is pretty weak though unless there's multiple targets, especially compared to Legion which is ridiculous against a single or multiple targets.

Situational? Sure, that's why he's got a bunch of area-denial tools so you can manipulate engagements get into situations where he wrecks.

L2P :P

Just beaten this, thoughts below:

+Good graphics and performs really well given how good it looks
+Generous checkpoint pacing, never had to repeat long sections
+Generally a solid feel to combat, movement, weaponry etc
+Nice throwback to traditional style of FPS, essentially moving point to point intertwined with combat, so you rarely feel like you don't know what to do next
+Forgiving platforming sections, focusing on making you feel like a god rather than punishing you for mis-timed key presses etc. I like that you can fall slightly short on a jump but if you are in contact with the side of a ledge you can spam spacebar to clamber up it.
+A few interesting level designs, such as when you climb up and a combat arena builds around you, or the time-travel level
+Sections with significant allied support are great, albeit used a bit too sparingly

-Boss fights seem too easy, I think the only one to kill me more than once or twice was Viper
-Looking back you don't actually do THAT much combat, maybe 300 kills or something like that?
-Jumping / puzzle routines feel a bit like a missed opportunity to blend in some more complex chained sections, maybe something in the Portal 2 mould. Shooting a switch mid-jump is about as complex as it gets.
-Felt like the characters could have had more lore built around them, I found myself not really having much attachment to the Militia nor really felt like I got to the stage of harbouring any emotion about the IMC bosses I was taking down, they were just another cliche
-Ending seems a bit lame, I was waiting for some sort of grand finale fight and just got what basically equates to a highly predictable interactive cutscene

Have you played it through on Master? It's quite cheeky, but I found myself retrying sections more than Bosses. Viper was the hardest one, until you figure out which Titan to use.

I recently picked this up and am nearing the end of the excellent campaign - it's worth the money for that alone, really recommend it.

Is it still possible to get a multiplayer match going in the UK? I expect I will get walloped completely but I would still like to give it a go.

Is it an EA exclusive? Can't see it on Steam for example!?

you'll struggle for a game unless at silly o'clock in the morning. such a shame as this was genuinely one of the best mp games of recent years. it and it's predecessor were massively let down by the EA Marketing machine for some bizarre reason. awesome games that they've just let die. weird as the money they could have made from the customizability of the titans skins alone would have been a huge earner for them.

Its far better than overwatch and any other shooter it never got launched in a period away from other shooters and EA marketed other games. I bought a skin for a Titan too and it still died.

Just shows the uphill battle sometimes they have you can make the worlds best gamr and if four out of the five unintelligent cod fanboys decide they never want to buy it at fullprice then you easily see how that can kill a game and you would not want to play alone. This is exactly what i experienced telling people how good the core stuff here is seems like talking to a brick wall people nod and acknowledge but that is about as far as it goes they never actually go try the game

All that is too late now, The servers would he utterly dead by now i guess while much worse games get remastered.
