if your hard drive contains anything I would NEVER want anyone else to see I would erase it then remove the platters from the drive and destroy them.. that way there is no chance of making a mistake..

What was the name of the site that was kind of a spoof hardware site? It had a foreign name to it, Sort of dutch maybe. To format a harddrive it told you to take it apart and place the platters on a hi-fi speaker, and to make sure you put the platter back in the same order or it wouldn't work again.
