** TODAY ONLY: GTX 1070 DELIVERED FOR £359.99 Inc. VAT !! **

Indeed. I thought I was settled on one of the 1060s at around the £260 mark once in stock. But now for £100 extra there's this. It's more than I would normally want to pay for a GPU, but I just bought a new 1440p monitor so need something with decent grunt to drive it and wasn't entirely convinced the 1060 will do that moving forward.

Main thing holding me back on the Palit is the 2 year warranty, as I definitely would not intend to upgrade this within the next 3-4 years. Decisions decisions :)

it's a risk indeed, however, if you don't push the card, OC I mean, and if it works for 2 years then there are very good chances it will keep working after that.

Well this offer has obviously melted the website and now I can't buy the 1080 I'm after.

Need this fixed in the next 15 minutes or I'm going elsewhere and you're losing a sale!

I most likely won't be OC'ing the GPU. Well perhaps very mildly, but definitely not hard overclocking. I tend to favour low fan noise over squeezing a few extra FPS.

In my experience it's the fans which tend to go first on the lower price cards. However, if this card has a zero fan mode when idle / desktop use then this should help.

Look just take my money thread. I've a Gigabyte 1070 and a close friend has this Palit. Both quiet, both do 2100 mhz and 550 extra on the ram . One downside is a 2 year warranty on the Palit and I assume under ocuk?

$390 + Tax, how does that compare to prices your seeing in the USA?

If you can find one on a special offer below $400 you are doing amazingly well. Most are listed as $439 upwards.

If you look around you mostly won't have to pay tax. I live in DE so I don't have to pay tax at all anyway. I still am not gonna pay 439 for one though, purely because I feel like I am being taken advantage of as a customer (and I have seriously being considering one). To even get under 400 normally you have to b using rebates (which are not guaranteed), and things like credit card incentives, so it isn't really 400 anyway.

For the UK in the current markt, this 1070 is a damn good deal and worth every penny above the 1060's.

I know its not the OCuk way but can you underclock a card like this to reduce heat and therefore fan noise? I'm still gaming at 1080p so max performance from a 1070 isn't necessary. I've been waiting for reviews of AIB 480s in regards to noise levels, but as has been said, they're non-existent and I'm getting impatient. Fan noise drives me crazy so I'm someone who would pay up to £100 more for a better, cooler, quieter card.

Edit to add, I'm currently running a r9 280 and its struggling.

My Palit GameRock is very, very quiet. Fans don't spin up until 55c and it's never gone above 40% fan speed (about 1100RPM). It's a bigger cooler but mine is overclocked quite high, so at stock I can't see this being loud.

I'm running this in a H440 with 3x120mm intake (7v) and a 140mm exhaust (also at 7v).
