** TODAY ONLY: GTX 1070 DELIVERED FOR £359.99 Inc. VAT !! **

Well I had a 470 before my 670 and that failed about 4 months after its 2y warranty period, so I got my son a 750ti to replace it, not that many months after that I was changing over from the 670 to my currant 970, but I stupidly sold it rather than move it down the line to my son's machine and his 750ti to my wife's machine.
Now he wants an upgrade and my wife's GTX 260 is really starting to struggle with stuff,.
So a nice new 1070 for me is a grand idea, and the longer the warranty the better because I can easily see it still big used in 4 or 5 years time.

360 quid is not what these should be imo.

No, they should be only ~£40 more than the 970's were but our currency has tanked big time compared to where it was when the 970 came out (£ is worth about 20% less than it was in September 2014 hence why the 1070 costs 20% more than hoped).

Regardless, at this price it offers the same price/perf as the 8gb 480's /1060's so it is a pretty good deal all things considered.

I was going to purchase on next week after a long time thinking about it since getting the rift. But, was going to get the cheapest one I could find, and then this deal comes along.

So perfect timing really :)

I've just jumped on this one. My EVGA 980 ACX 2.0 should sell okay second hand. Hoping this upgrade will eventually cost me about 180 quid once I sell the old card.

I'm running the Dell 27 inch G-sync monitor so I reckon this is a good upgrade for 1440p gaming.

That'll not be for a while, the currency thing is a real problem and isn't going to stabilise anytime soon. Too much uncertainty, too much to sort out quickly.

It's why I went for now. Figured it's perhaps the best time to get rid of the 980 as well, although that time might even have passed by now.

Turned up - looks like its boosting to 1911MHz out the box - bit of a wrench pulling the GHZ edition out as it really is a gorgeous card and all of 3x the weight of this 1070 due to the premium materials used + backplate.

You got the Palit one that was on special yesterday? How do you like it?

Yeah - seems alright so far - running cool and quiet - doesn't have the premium look and feel of the 780 GHZ I pulled out which is a bit disappointing as I basically paid the same price but doesn't feel cheap either.

I'm not concerned about the aesthetics, since my PC is tucked away. I'm hoping it will be comparatively lighter than my ASUS STRIX 970, which had a propensity to sag! How is the performance in contrast to the 780? Mine is due tomorrow, I can't wait!

It is easily 3x lighter than my 780 GHZ though it lacks the rigidity that the uprated aluminium sheath on that had.

Performance difference in Doom (out the box boost on both) with same settings:

Nice jump in performance all the same.

Can't wait until mine arrives now.

The only downside is that I am using a Freesync monitor.
