Today's mass shooting in the US

I also like how they always praise the police regardless, even though they just turn up after some dude has killed a bunch then shot himself. If the police prevented things they might be more worthy.
and how are the police supposed to prevent this exactly? Didn't realise we had pre-crime tech in 2020.
They praise the police because they are putting themselves in harms way to potentially save more people.

Remove the ready access to guns? Ok, not the police who implement, but it will be for them to enforce when the time comes.

I think the rest of the world is past caring

they have the power to do something about it yet they seem prepared to just live with the risk

some false platitudes from politicians after each one and life goes on for the rest of the country

why should we care when they clearly dont

Sorry I think my logic at time of post was that if police turn up and rescue people / combat / capture an armed lunatic then they deserve serious credit. But If police turn up somewhere after a guy has murdered a bunch of people then shot himself then they haven't exactly contributed a great deal to the situation.

Only law changes could help prevent mass shootings but America is way past that.

I think the point is that they go in not knowing the full severity of the situation, including whether the shooter is dead or alive.

Sadly, this.

From what I see, they have created a monster, and have to live with it. With more guns than people (I expect) there's no way that they could take them away, even if they wanted to - and the added checks they put in place to stop nutter buying them, won't account for Mr or Mrs Average Joe who just snap one day.

It's sad to see people robbed of life like this, but guns are just part of life in the US.
