Bit worrying in a way that he survived - these things often encourage copycats especially as he survived due to wearing body armour - some other nutcases might think they can do the same thing.

There are those that will be happy to murder based on skin colour and throw their life away, although they will likely feel its anything but throwing it away, its a war for their culture and race and war needs sacrifice. Still, he is 18 years old, to be so full of hate at that age, wtf

Give it time, sadly we tend to follow America's dark side. But the obsession is real. How many posts are placed in here regarding atrocities in, for example, Brazil, India or Mexico? How many comments grasp the nettle and ask why is there this inter racial and caste hatred, can it be addressed or is it endemic in the human psyche?
I support gun ownership and 2A but I agree there should be mental health assessments / checks on MH history. The difficult part is not making it political, e.g. the doctor doesn’t like guns so won’t give sign off (I understand that’s an issue in the UK).

There's all sorts out of outrage, quite rightly, when Muslim clerics are allowed to preach hate at mosques.

The evangelical right could be argued to have a lot in common with ISIS. They both want a theocracy where their religious beliefs are imposed on everyone by the state. Anyone breaking "God's law" should be criminally punished. Same sex marriage and just being gay would be illegal. Abortion and contraception would be illegal. They might not be as brutal but the basics are the same.
There's no argument that they have the same intention, but yes, the punishment is less overt, if not less brutal, when looking at the fundamental element of christianity.
I think the ISIS comparisons are kinda like comparing the behavior of Russian troops in Ukraine with say rather more isolated bad incidents of British troops in Northern Ireland or US troops in Afghanistan, it's rather superficial and at a completely different scale. I mean the baseline/regular beliefs in countries where ISIS became popular are pretty ****ed up by western standards let alone the extremist ones!
As for mainstream media like Fox news etc.. that would be like blaming CNN for the black guy who decided to drive his truck at a load of white people, this guy was influenced by more than Tucker Carlson - rather it was the worst of 4Chan, /pol/ etc. he apparently blames Jews for non-white immigration or something - that's not the sort of thing you'd get from US evening news etc..
