Today's mass shooting in the US

It's both Republican states rank the worst in education outcomes and have the highest poverty rates as well as the lowest gun controls

Poor educational outcomes and high poverty rates are often overlooked critical factors in firearm homicide/general homicide rates. Gun control laws vary greatly between US states. Interestingly, Vermont regularly has the lowest homicide by firearms rate in the USA. It was 0.3 per 100,000 in 2010 (lowest that year), whereas the UK had 0.1 per 100,000 that year. However, Vermont has some of the most liberal and permissive gun control laws in the USA. It neither issues nor requires a permit to carry a gun on one's person, openly or concealed. This is known in the U.S. as "constitutional carry". Vermont is the only state where this has always been the case. Its laws prohibit local governments from regulating the possession, ownership, transfer, carrying, registration or licensing of firearms there. It is also a Democrat controlled state.

The point being, the presence of firearms (even in public places) rarely poses a problem if they are in the hands of sane, educated, median income earning populations. The War on Drugs, untreated mental illness and poverty are responsible for a huge proportion of the USA's homicide rate.

Its been rising since 2013, a slight dip in 2017 and them a sharp rise in 2019. You were the one that said it was trending down and had been for 40 years, that clearly isn't the case.
Yes and there were dips and rises in previous decades to? Figures are showing that the homicide rate is back on the decline post covid btw.

I'd also question that pew screenshot as the homicide rate in the US in the early 90's was over 9 per 100k and not the 7 per 100k they are listing. Although that could be because they are using CDC figures whereas other places use FBI and other government agency figures.
Vermont is a bit of an outlier, it's on the Canadian border and barely anyone lives there. Their biggest "city" is like 40,000 people or something.

Not really, Alaska has a population of 3/4 of a million and yet ranks amongst the highest states for homicides.

Thats not how stats work. You need to plot a trend line, to see if it is trending downwards or not. Not just point out that a single data point is higher.

Crime is and always will be linked to income and education. Its the same here, the poorest parts of the country/cities have the highest crime rates.

Seems that the rhetoric from the trans community is starting to ramp up and have some potentially lethal consequences

So two people who do not know each other planned the same style attack, with the intent of targeting the same group of people. What a coincidence.

Have they checked who they follow on social media yet?

Some aspects of the trans community do seem to be getting more and more violent in their ideology. This is the logical outcome of that sort of thing. I do think that some people who are trans have serious mental health issues and if they end up with the wrong people directing them it won't end well. Same for any angry, confused young person really.

It's not unusual at all for copy cat attacks, in fact it would be more unusual for it to be a one off.

Copy cat mass shooters will hold the same ideology as the original, we don't know the reasons behind the Nashville shooting yet seeing as the police/FBI haven't released that manifesto currently - I doubt they ever will personally. Most people are just guessing as to why given the recent spike in violent rhetoric from certain activist groups.

Can you please explain to me how the person in the link C kent posted spent a month or two (from the article) planning an attack identical (copy cat as you put it) to one that happened a week ago? I feel as if the timelines don’t match up.

You've only got to look at their unhinged reactions over Bud Light / Anheuser-Busch to realise many of them have concerning issues!

Apparently, that same person is not only selling sports bras for Nike, but has promoted Tampax as well.

You really couldn’t make this **** up. I already feel sympathy for any future historians looking back at the last few decades.

The unhinged reactions being weirdos shooting up beer cans because a trans person is involved in advertising them ?

Amazing how they won’t drink it because of trans advertising and not because it’s watered down pee in a can.

Wannabe alpha Americans and their love of dreadful weak beers never stops be funny
