Tomb Raider - Rise of the Raider PC

I set my tex to high from v high too. Can't really tell a difference visually but the performance is night and day.

Just done the same on my 970 and it is much smoother. Weirdly my 980m laptop is perfectly smooth with it set to V High.... It must be something to do with the weird 970 V-Ram setup as the 970 is a more powerful card than the 980m ????

this game is absolutey amazing, really feels like im playing a movie, graphics are amazing, awesome game play, love the dialogue scripts you pick up and listen to, the level design is stunning, I get the same feeling from this as when I played god of war 2, they took everything that made the first game amazing and made it better in every single way, already beats every other game I played in 2015, having so much fun <3 <3

I am really enjoying this, just discovered the soviet base and waiting for new amd drivers now.

Only there's something about the new ones that just doesn't pump my nads as much as the older ones did, both of them feel very much on rails, its actually very hard to die, get lost, or anything. You can't just run off a ledge and die, you don't need to time any jumps anymore, the skill level is a fraction of what it used to be and the the "puzzles" are childs play now. Plus the isolated feeling is long gone.

Everyone is a winner these days you can't have hard games can you. There you go have a pat on the head....

Also i'm forever pressing this bloody instinct button for loot, what is it with loot and crafting! every game, collecting and making ****, I understand teh psychology of this and why its in games but jesus cmon, everyone got ocd now playing games.

Its good, looks brilliant and I am enjoying it, its just not tomb raider anymore.

Completely agree with all that. I would add there's too much killing people not enough versus the environment, Lara is basically rambo these days. I like that they've added some stealth opportunities definitely a step in the right direction from TR 2013 but not enough to do a complete stealth playthrough from what i've seen so far?

All this has served to do is make the wait for Deus Ex even longer

I haven't been this impressed with a whole game package for a while, makes the outlay on Titan X / 1440p / 5930k all the more worthwhile.

Yeah, I remember playing the first few on PS1 and stuff and they were actually hard, figuring out puzzles etc. Was good fun.

TR1 was prob the hardest, TR3 was the king for me. TR1 anniversary on pc is pretty good but not as challenging as the original but lots of old school fun, maybe the **** graphics and controls had something to do with it but the ps1 games were genuinely challenging and the sense of relief finishing a level and accomplishment is missing from the reboots.

Feels like I'm playing dragons layer or something now.....Feel like its cheating me, I remember on TR2013 at the start I was carefully trying to navigate a narrow beam, thinking phew made it i've still got it!, then realised you cannot actually fall off, its all for show, patronising, holding my hand. a lot of it just flatters casual players, its not real, just the illusion of skill, everyone can do, you literally just hold up.

Equality in gaming, is the end of gaming....

wow that certainly goes against most of the comments here .

lol did you pick up the right game?!

He's right though I've just bought it and spent the last few hours on it and its utterly dull.
Most people are looking through rose tinted spectacles due to how good it looks and forget that getting your hand held through a linear game with brainless puzzles, uninteresting story and seemingly zero challenge is a bad thing.

The whole thing feels like the worlds longest tutorial.
It's already un-installed.

He's not right, it's called an opinion. I and quite a lot of people thought Witcher 3 dragged on and and offered little challenge. Does it make us right? In what way enjoying a linear game is a bad thing? I think the game feels great as an experience, just like Uncharted, and I find it interesting (especially on survival mode). Don't sh ove your OPINION into peoples' throats.

To be fair, its a given when someone makes a comment on a message board that it is an opinion.

"I and quite a lot of people thought Witcher 3 dragged on and and offered little challenge. Does it make us right?" Yes, yes that does make you right

Yes, it's obviously an opinion but he made it sound like the ultimate truth and like all the people enjoying this game are doing something bad, which is something else.

BTW, TR3 is also my fav:)

Is that an opinion you just posted?

dont understand why people say linear games are bad, aside from witcher imo most open games are just filled with dull boring quests, most of the best games ive ever played have been linear, resident evil 4, god of war, uncharted, halo, most of these massive open world games are so over hyped (fallout 4) Id take a 15-25 hr linear game with a great story line over 100+ hours of same quests any day
