toob users, what router did you get given by them? Just been installed, they left me a Linksys Velop MX4200

Anyone who has had Toob installed fairly recently, do you know what ONT they supplied?

I'm moving house and I'm just curious about what ONT I'll get at my new place because I'm sure I read somewhere that it's now a model with a 2.5Gb Ethernet port. I currently have an Adtran SDX621i which only has a 1Gb Ethernet port. Just curious as to whether they actually have started using newer ones or if it depends on area.
 
Toob only do 1Gb symmetric max at the moment but I was wondering if they would future proof with faster ONTs.

I actually got a call this morning offering to bring my appointment forward so I'm at my new place now. Not up and running yet but they've fitted another Adtran ONT to the wall and it is indeed a different smaller one with a 2.5Gb port so I guess that's my question answered :)

Edit: In case anyone cares, it's an Adtran SDX 631q

I dunno what the make of mine is, but it has a 2.5Gbe port on it. It's behind a cabinet, so not easy to look at. But at the time of install I saw it had 2.5Gbe.

I suspect there will be some faster speeds on Toob some point in the future.

Yep no doubt we'll see increased speeds at some point. That's why I was curious if they were giving out ONTs with 2.5Gb port as standard these days and it does seem that they are. I suspect you've got the same 631q, it's a smallish white box. The older 1Gb one is a black box and is a little larger.

Interestingly while I was over at my new place yesterday I did some speed tests and I do seem to be getting slightly higher upload speeds.



Nothing to get excited about of course, but the max you'll see from a 1Gb port is around 940Mb/sec, so it seems that the 2.5Gb port does seem to give a tiny bit more speed. Kind of weird seeing upload speed higher than download speed but it was more or less the same results after several tests.

Is there anybody here running ipv6 on their Unifi network? I thought I had it setup and working initially after it was installed but after a few days it seemed to just stop working so I've turned it off for the moment. What ipv6 settings are people running on the WAN and LAN side?
 
Yeah mine is a white box.

I've not really looked at any IPv6 stuff. It's all on just default. Devices which support it like my PC seem to have a valid IPv6 address.
