Top 3 Games based on Graphics on the PC?

Crysis is so far out in front of anything else it's ridiculous, even like a year-two years after its release.

I just bought Warhead at the weekend and I'm finding myself stopping every so often and just going "holy ****!" hahah. I only have the graphics on "Gamer" and not "Enthusiast" and without DX10 so I can only imagine what it looks like up full whack.

I wasn't impressed with their graphics compared to Far Cry 2's. Far Cry 2's just looked smoother and more realistic, not to mention a smoother engine.

* Crysis
* Assassin's Creed
* I'll say Source Engine generally for representation of humans, especially Facial animation. I still find a lot of games grating after HL2 and Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines (which, apart from facial animation, ain't that great looking).

Crysis, shocking game.. but when the Radeon HD 7970 is released, we might be able to play it without motion sickness from flipping rubbish framerates!! it will look great too!!

Crysis already runs fairly well considering the visuals - I can pretty much max it out at 1920x1080, and it's by far the most visually impressive PC game so far, even two years after release.

Scott we're talking about BEST graphics, not "good" graphics...

Actually WE were talking about the best graphics, you haven't contributed to the thread other than to be derisive and snide towards me.

.. and I replied with

HL2
Crysis
GRID
Bioshock
HAWX
Company of Heroes

I named a few because of the genres and the type of graphics.

HL2 and Crysis are the best FPS, they are very different but in there setting are fantastic graphically

GRID has the nicest graphics on any racing game I have played.. getting "Shift" in a few days!!

Bioshock and Quake 4 both have that specular effect which is completely different to half life 2 and Crysis, but in its own way looks brilliant

Company of heroes is different from all the others, for a strategy game its the best I have seen.

If you had read between the lines you would have understood what I mean't, or maybe given your opinion. Instead you decided to add to your post count by being pretentious.

Well played!! :o

Based on how impressed I was when I *first* played them:

[1] MOHAA
[2] Battlefield 2
[3] Grand Turissmo (or whatever it's called I think version 4)

Graphics alone, taking nothing else in to account.

Crysis.

It is still a fair way ahead in terms of looks, it's a stunning engine.
It runs fantastic on my set up, and just looks amazing.

Half Life II, with the cinematic mod looks very impressive as well.

Far Cry II, again, looks very good if you like brown :p

Totaly agree with this. Still play bf2, played most of the 4years on a 19" monitor. SInce the new patch and a 24" monitor it still looks dam fine. Wake island is good example.
