Top Gear Is Back!!

They're *very* good and I think one would suit you down to the ground. It's not a sports car, it's too quiet and refined for my tastes but as an all rounder, now they've reached £8-£9k on the used market, they represent fantastic value for money.

I'd buy one without much hesitation if it wasnt for the existence of the 530i Sport. Which does pretty much the same thing...

I'd imagine long term the Mondeo will be much cheaper to run though - spares, labour costs, etc plus the enthusiast 'scene' over the next few years is bound to be better than the BMW.

I'm not saying I'd go for the Mondeo with your budget and requirements but it has to be a serious proposition.

If I were a bigger man, I might even dare to say a kitted up ST220 is better looking than an E39 Sport :o.

Not being funny but 90% of people would just say "oh, you got another Mondeo" and not realise it's anything special. But you buy the car for yourself and not other people..... ;)

But that's true with most of the power editions of the standard round the mill models - even M3 badges nowadays bring more of a "yeah, right, that is soooo last auction" reaction than nod of respect.

I for one would cheer for TW to get Mondeo, there wouldn't much to fence about with him if one day he just started driving 530i and advising everyone to follow. ;)

Family cars feature this week - booo! Anyway, the Ford S-Max, Vauxhall Zafira VXR (don't laugh) and the Mercedes B200 Turbo. The word 'turbo' tells you that these aren't necessarily the cheapest, slowest family cars you can buy. Jeremy and The Stig get the fast stuff to play with this week: the Caterham 7.

Steve Coogan is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.

JC is just annoying. He's trying really hard to be funny building this car but just coming across as a ***** :/

That must have been a fix, I can't believe they built it from scratch in a day. Loads must have been already done, like the wiring/electrics etc.

Hi there

Well again not enough car stuff but at least this week I was entertained, very funny! Just love the Stigs acting good laugh! :D

Also those two guys who did all that running, are they human, very impressive guys. :)

I enjoyed that. A good mix of car stuff and comedy. I didn't like the 207 feature. That Lambo looks mental. I thought the kit car section was good, i'd love to have the time/space to build one one day.

Good episode!
