Top Gear: Series 19

Although the Range Rover looks good and that drone thingy was amazing.
I do think James May is lacking somewhat compared to Jeremy and Hammond.

Wether they like the car or not they put some energy into the review, even if clarkson thinks a car is really dull he puts energy into acting dull and being bored, and makes it entertaining, I don't think May can really hold his own on his own, he works better when he has the other two to bounce of.

TL;DR
May should not be doing reviews by himself

oh and speedo and fog light are a stroke of genius :D

There was a new Range Rover on the M40 this morning, broken down on the hard shoulder.

That was the one!! (Black/dark Grey?)
I was bearing down on it just as it was pulling away from a van (call out chap presumably)on the hard shoulder whilst throwing out lots of grey smoke (DPF??) when I was about 250yds from it it pulled into my path, with hazards still flashing, doing about 25mph!! Thankfully, the middle lane was clear and I managed to avoid punting her in a somewhat dramatic manner!!

As I say, driven by a clueless posh bint, who was clearly yabbering in her mobile (surely a car like that has hands free / Bluetooth??) £70k+ car, zero common sense. :/

TBH most people are just saying that, despite loving TG as a whole, they found yesterday's a bit of a disappointment. I can see where they're coming from and they're entitled to their opinions..?

That's what I was saying, the whole season was great, aside from this last ep. Range Rover bit was the only thing that felt Top Gear ish...

Generally, the eps where they start building something of their own aren't too great imho, I can recall some kind of electric vehicle episode. Imho pensioners or ''green'' things should not be a focus on Top Gear ( except for mocking of course :)), it should be silly car reviews ( eg. I liked the celeb fest Cee'd review, or ages ago the Twingo and Fiesta reviews), nice specials, and OTT supercars being ragged about!

Basically, nice cars+ nice scenery + nice music + good editing = :D.
The challenges abroad are generally great too. But the UK challenges are often quite boring recently ( in the old days they were different though, the boat(car) ep was quite nice.)

Also the star in a reasonably priced car is sometimes tedious, and sometimes great! Eg. Demian Lewis was okay to see, Mick Fleetwood and AMy McDonald were great to see in the show, Lewis Hamilton was okay to see, but this weeks star was plain boring or even annoying imho ( James McAvoy).
I guess I like music Artists most on TG.

Next weeks ep should be great due to the scenery, atmosphere, and tbh, I prefer looking at old 5 series, 850R's and Subaru's being driven about over some ruined Multipla! All 3 cars I'd still like to own sometime or drive sometime, over a hideous thing that should be forgotten asap!

I enjoyed most of it, lets face it - Top Gear sometimes deviates away from it's usual diet of stuff a bit too far but for the most part the 'old folks' section was mildly amusing which is fine by me. I absolutely loved the Range Rover drive though. What a fantastic bit of kit. And I reckon May has a style all to himself when it comes to presenting an opinion and short review on a vehicle. Sure Clarkson and the Hamster introduce plenty of clever quips and humour but May manages to rise slightly above that whilst still being entertaining.

Maybe I'm just getting old. I'll be saying Goffey, Mason, Woolard and auld Quentin Wilson were better to watch next.

Well..........maybe not. :p

Funniest bit for me was when the old biddie walks out from the home and goes 'Oh a Rover'

The 'James' badge was good also as well as the crafted on grill. Subtle touches.

Pensioner bit was a bit lame, I don't really link these features where they just don't try at all. They aren't all like that though. Amphibian one was pretty cool.

However when the car exploded I did **** myself.

Next two episodes are the ones I'm really looking forward to, I love the specials and they are on my phone as a back up for bordem, watched them so many times.

As stupid as it was, I thought it was genuinely amusing.

As an aside, is Top Gear Live worth it?
Saw Nitro Circus Live recently and thought that was bloody amazing.

I was in the studio when they filmed this episode.

It certainly wasn't my favourite but it was good overall. I think the worst part was James McAvoy, I didn't really know who he was and I found that part quite boring. Also, we (the audience) were rushed because we were told that James McAvoy had to get back to London to continue filming 'Macbeth'. As a result this part of the filming was earlier which meant we had to stand around for longer without a break. He also didn't interact or talk with anyone in the audience, he literally jumped on the stage, did the filming for 30 minutes then went. I think we were all disappointed.

Jeremy, James and Richard are all ridiculously funny, the three of them constantly had the audience in stitches.
