Top Ten Comedy Films.

Meet the parent / Fockers
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Me, Myself and Irene
Ace Ventura 1
Nutty Professor
40yr old virgin
Cool Runnings
Austin Powers 1 & 2

Not in order, just a few off the top of my head.

i dont like anchorman i dont find some american humor funny.
i love Shaun of the dead but i also really like american pie1+2 which are quite old now and imo some of the best teen movies.
Accepted is ok, and american pie 3 is worth a watch. american pie 4 is funny but only worth watching once and american pie 5 is plain pants.

not another teen movie isnt bad and scary movie 1 and 2 are ok.
Eurotrip is hillarious.

EDIT: forgot to add my 1st dvd i ever bought. Road trip. imo its as good as american pie1+2 and is a teen classic.

I might get shot down in flames here... but Freddie Got Fingered is a very good off the wall style "comedy" film... IF you take it for what it is

It has no real story and is basically a sequence of VERY loosely strung together scenes
It has no sensible acting
It makes no sense
Its very immature and silly

You'll either laugh constantly, or HATE it. If you are still amused by things like a smelly fart etc, you'll probably be entertained for 90mins :p .

Depends what you like, how old you are etc, as to any sensible suggestions for real films.

Not by me you won't. Both my brothers and I think it's one of the funniest films ever, but not a single one of my friends finds it amusing (although one laughed all the way through and then at the end said, what a waste of 90 minutes  ). But you're right - you either love it, or you despise it - it's the Marmite of the comedy world ;). I like Marmite.

I can also vouch for:
Shaun of the Dead :D
Dude, Where's my Car?
Team America: World Police
The South Park Movie
Shallow Hal
Withnail and I
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Uncle Buck (can you tell I like John Candy films?)
the last three are getting on a bit, but they still make me laugh

Clerks
Mallrats
Chasing Amy
Dogma
Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back
Clerks II
An Evening with Kevin Smith
An Evening with Kevin Smith 2: Evening Harder

Airplane
Police Squad
Naked Gun trilogy
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Life of Brian
The Blues Brothers
Blues Brothers 2000
Evil Dead
Evil Dead II
Army of Darkness
Austin Powers trilogy

Amongst others
