Torchlight Action RPG by ex Blizzard North

must resist the urge !! it looks fantastic and from what im hearing its a belter !!!! if i didnt have Borderlands on pre-order i'd probably be all over this ..

or should I treat myself ? :p

well for £13 you cant go far wrong. Not sure id want to pay over £20 for it which is putting me off D3 a little.

But its good, i love the pet and the fact you can load it up and send it back to town. Would be nice if there was a quick transfer option to dump all your junk on the pet. Not too fussed about lack of rotation, i think that would just confuse me on the maps and id get lost looking for stairs.

Going full on Beserker at the moment and enjoying it.

Tbh I would have gladly payed much more for this game. 13 quid feels like Im stealing it. I have not had such a wry smile on my face as I have when playing this gem of a game.

A few minor things like Talent tree respecs an so forth but its so well polished and has that pick up and play factor. My nephew went home in a huff cos I'll give you a shot in 10 mins turned into cya son I'll let you play it next week :P

i'm a level 9 Vanquisher - i was hoping the game would allow me to go for either Sniper-assasin OR gunslinging pistol-user.

i'm happy to say that i'm Both. on the same character :D

Comeon people, lets see some character screenshots :)
Pistols: (personal favorite :D)

Rifle (more practical - Longer Range and higher damage)

you know you want to ;)

How the hell do you install demos with Steam? I go to the link in the store and click Install Demo....and absolutely nothing happens. If i try on the website then I get the 'Do you wish to open this with Steam message' click yes and...nothing happens. Is there a way to get this demo without using Steam?

took 10 mins to download from steam. great little game having a blast with it. cant imagine how ridiculously fun a coop mode would be but for that we got to wait for diablo 3. however at lvl 15 the game seems too easy on very hard difficulty.

love the lazors!

Just played through the Steam demo to make sure I like it - ordered it straight afterwards. So much like D2, just what I've been looking for :D

Yummy DRM better not be full of crap else I'll be asking for a refund. According to the mod on the forum it's nice and clean - it just decrements your number of activations upon installation (you get 10 activations, you can ask for more).

Well I've played this more than 4+hours and still loving it, starting to get a good set of uniques going, loving the look of the dragon sholder pads, might be a set I'll try and complete!

Example...

I loved the diablo games, and i love loot, so this game should be a deff purchase for me right?

Is it really too easy though? i'll probably get it tomorrow anyway :D

I could just download and start the game yesterday when getting back from the pub, quickly made a warrior and started to get a feeling of the game, I though It'd not be that cartoon but it looks very good still, and combat is nice. Will play more when I get the time..

For those worried about the difficulty, I have heard that the difficulty ramps up as you get further in, and it does get very difficult. Somebody played through with a summoner build in a press copy and died over 100 times on very hard.

The demo from Steam (the one I am playing, no money :() is only a few levels but it installed on my system with no problems. I understand the demo from Runic will be 2 hours but it isn't ready yet.

As for the game, oh boy. Lots of fun :). Playing a destroyer with slash is huge fun, watch those enemies fly :D

Played through the mines last night with an arcane dude. Was really tired, wasn't really paying attention so just putting points anywhere, but did seem a little easy. The dude at the bottom did need to be kited a little but only cause i didnt want to burn through potions.

Will give it a proper go at the weekend.

Yeah, normal is a bit of a joke, I think I was three or four levels in before I even had to use a potion. Going to restart tonight on hard, or the level above it, if there is one.
