Total War: Warhammer 3

Well guys, Immortal Empires is finally out today with the Chaos Champion DLC. Seem like I can now start playing and enjoying this game, especially when SFO arrives. Funny how they are now calling it a BETA when it will be just like any other release in the last 6 years, but hey-ho it is what it is and this game will start to be great again. :)

Just had a few turns blast with Warriors Of Chaos, wow this game is now very damn epic. Over the coming months I am excited to see how it improves with the bugfixing, tweaks and the race DLC's. Good job CA. :D

Grombrindal's new start is awesome. You're surrounded by potential enemies with few potential friends.

I've landed fortunate in my campaign (VH/N) so far, in that Naggarond declared war on Clan Septik early on, weakening them both. I managed to deal with both by turn 22 (technically Malekith is still around, but he's down to one province on the Clawed Coast that I can't easily get to - he won't be an issue any time soon). Even with Naggarond out of the way, I've still got Valkia, Taurox, Cylostra, Crone Hellebron and Alith Anar on my doorstep (Grombrindal's campaign necessitates war with the High Elves, effectively making Alith Anar an enemy).

It's going to be interesting to see how this one plays out. Grombrindal is completely isolated from other dwarfs and their traditional allies (the nearest human Order LLs are both in Lustria). So he's either going it alone, or forging unconventional alliances (Cylostra? Sisters of Twilight? Khatep?).

Grombrindal was going to be my first campaign. Hopefully all these changes will stop the inevitable IME/ME Dark Elf domination. There have been some other interesting moves like Grimgor and Skarsnik and Alberic to Lustria who will have a tough time against Lizardmen early game.

Gotta admit I do like some of the changed starting positions so that everybody gets a bit of everything factionwise.

Started as Ghorst starting just south of the Ogre Kingdoms, and within 5 turns you fight Skaven, Ku'Gath, Orks and if not for raised relations because I'm fighting them, H Elves, Ogres and Cathay. So much better than just "yeah you've got empire, empire, empire, other empire, empire, Dwarves and empire surrounding you."

Does anyone else think the graphics look terrible in comparison to game 2? Game 3 seems very blurry/fuzzy, whilst also cartoony. At the standard camera draw distance the units seem to load in as unidentifiable blobs. This is ruining the game for me atm and if I can't find a suitable graphic settings setup I might have to head back to game 2.

Ryzen 5600 & RTX3080 @ 3440x1440p btw.

I think the graphics are way better than Game 2. Textures are very clean and detailed and the art direction does have a grimdark feel. I personally wouldn't say they were cartoony in any negative way.

They have a few visual bugs and imperfections to fix (SSAO and TAA seems to be a recurring issue) and then I will be very happy with the visuals. I'd love more grass/vegetation on the battlefields too. :)

Very cartoony. Looks dreadful.
Outline colours too.

Well, having just loaded up immortal empires all I can say is wow, what a turn around they have made, performance alone is now as good if not better than game 2 and looks gorgeous! Well apart from the main map, still looks too cartoony for my tastes but other than that it's now a 10/10

Definitely not 10/10 for me yet, there are still various things that need to be fixed such as sieges and other gameplay issues and bugs. However it's definitely now a solid 8/10 and will be 10/10 by the end of its lifecycle.
