Trainer craze

I don't get the potential lifespan issues of them ... it's like wine ?
I mean you can't leave running trainers in the cupbards for years and years, the shock absorption deteriorates, plastic may crack, UV wouldn't help, too.
some of the designs come over as kitsch - ok - live and let live.

As I say before when I say display it's just as much about easy access. When you have hundreds of pairs with similar boxes the only way to keep them is to stack them.

When you want to find a certain pair it's much easier to open a cupboard door with a glass front than first Google the style code, find the box with the right label then remove however many boxes are stacked on top.

In my mind display shelves look a hell of a lot better than surrounding yourself by shoe boxes.

Again...why? Just because someone has been very successful at doing something doesn't explain why people like it. Look at Rihanna, she's just awful. She's a billionaire too.

She has hundreds of millions of views if not billions. Therefore she's only awful in your opinion which doesn't account for anything on anybody else's opinion.

Same goes for trainers.

I don't display trainers but those that do are collectors. Collectors usually display whatever they collect that's the point of most collections tbh.

Same goes for cars, wine, Pokémon, etc people display all of them too.

the photo from the OP looks like the generic nike brand trainers you would get in the 90s.
the low end NIkes for like £30-50.

I used to think spending money on trainers was a waste, but I got a pair of trainers a few months back for £40 and they already has a small hole in the material near the toes... (meant to be hiking trainers too lol.......)

any time I spent £100 my trainers always lasted 1-2 years, the grip would be completely gone but the trainers still were without any wear/tear elsewhere...

I'm pretty sure it's not just my opinion...but OK. For some reason you seem to be conflating popularity with quality. That's a very fundamental error.

Years ago, cigarettes was the currency used by crims inside of the prison system.

Now that most prisons have smoke-free policy, the crims use trainers as currency with their extortionate price point!

Yeah billions of people like to watch awful content

Um...yeah. statistically nearly 4 billion people are dumber than the average human. So a significant proportion of them are gonna be as thick as 2 short planks.

Just look at how many people smoke.

A significant portion of them don't have access to the internet either.

If it's that easy to get billions of views and become a billionaire then let's see you do it.

I just looked on ebay and theres some for under £80.
Are they the high-leg red & white version from the film, or the more recent camo editions that are essentially worthless to collectors?

Or is the question why should other people align to your taste? I'm not keen on Rihanna but it never crossed my mind why other people do or don't. Everyone should have the freedom to like what they want, without being judged.

I never said it was easy. Although you do have a track record for making things up.

People collect all sorts of **** look at stamps wtf is that all about. I guess they are small enough not to have room dedicated to some crap bit of rubber that's going to leech it's oils out in another 10 years.

Idiots will collect anything, trainers is just another idiotic thing to spend money on and show like minded idiots how much you can spend yo collect extruded foam, glue and rubber. Major congrats to Nike et all for making people collect their brand. Most impressive.

Ive never been a big collector of anything, i think its a mental illness unless its part of a museum.
