Transformers 4

Yeah when I watched the trailer at work I was busy doing other things and didn't notice the part where it shows multiple ships.
I just noticed the scene where there is a massive ship, with a singluar round eye like centre, and 2 spikes protrouding out (so basically it has similar featuresa to Unicron) then it started sucking up everything - like Unicron.

So basically it seems they wanted Unicron in, but couldn't think of a good way to make a planet sized Transformers fit so they designed a bunch of ships to mimic traits of his instead.

So in that sense, I think this IS Unicron (or as close as we'll get to) in a Bay film. It's their incarnation of his presense without actually including him as a character.

Seems that way at least.

I showed the trailer to my wife lats night and she barely took any notice and ended up just leaving the room halfway through. She's even more into Transformers than me...I think the 1st trilogy was too much for her. haha

My wife just said "Oh Okay, Suppose we'll go and see it!, Might be better than the last one!, couldn't be worse!"

God I Love Her!! :D

Well it surely can't be worse so she's right there. lol

My wife spends too much time reading Transformers comics and FanFiction so finds it harder to just put that aside and enjoy the films for what they are.

For me, I'm more into the figures and don't really read the comics very much so it's a bit easier.

Ill go watch this at 4k cinema maybe imax.

But definitely watching at the cinema.

I enjoyed the first 3 movies, the first one is still one of my favourite films. In spite of the annoying male lead and his parents. The second one had a terrible story but megan fox never annoys me. The third one the female lead was terrible and the story was a bit better than the second but still atrocious, i also hate when the transformers do a narration over the movie, it just seems very cheesy.

The female head of military in the third one was just stupid and annoying as well. The first one has Jon Voight which made a big difference.

I have high hopes for Wahlberg and transformers 4.

I am a huge FX fan and these never fail to deliver. I detested that they used that horrible boy Shia and the girl Huntington-Whiteley was a complete spoiler of such good films.

Now that Whalberg is lead, I can't wait. Deffo IMAX time when this is out.

I've tried to like these films, was a big fan as a kid and I've even started reading the new comics on my Kindle.
But all the films have managed to do is instill a deep hatred for Shia Labeouf. I don't not want my giant robot fighting films full of awkward teen comedy/romance!

And as for giant fighting robots, talk about giant cluster****!

If they can make a scene 1/2 as good as this. Where I can actually tell who's fighting.

It was a bad sign when I decided to start fast forwarding through scenes in the 3rd film, even the big budget sky scrapper falling stuff.

And yes "You've got the touch" is my ringtone.

I know it's very hit and miss when someone tries to revive your childhood, I've watched all 3, trying to clear my mind and just enjoy it for what it is...then Shia Labeouf appeared on screen.

Was that why he was dropped?

I always like the boke who was s7 in, first one, then a butcher in the second one and a book author in the third one with the boke out of firefly as his driver/butler the scene with him are just funny.

Looks gash.

Wont be long before my entire childhood is destroyed and remade in cgi.

Only need to re-murder dogtanian and the mysterious cites of gold.

You know what would be just perfect for Transformers?

If they made it for adults, and animated it like Gundam Unicorn. I don't watch Gundam (other than the '79 series, first one I think). But that was made well before Transformers cartoon and the animation is way better.

Apart from the odd weird scene, it's mostly about loss, death, war and suffering, rivalry etc etc.

I long for some Transformers fan to become a billionaire, buy the rights to and make the series that would be amazing. get in some of the FanFiction writers for the script as they are often better than the professional people. Some of them write amazing stories if you avoid al lthe pervy crap.

If I ever become a billionaire, I promise to all fans that the Transformers franchise will be made into something truly amazing. I can always dream.

Probably going to be a load of old tosh. Aimed at 13 years, with big explosions and terrible acting (for the most part). These are almost guaranteed. Bay needs to stop making films.

The actions sequences in the original series were confusing sometimes for different reasons, even that clip, is prime impervious to the lasers in his truck form? If so why would it matter what form he's in as its still his body taking the hits. Maybe a bit ott thinking for a cartoon but still...

Agree with the fight scenes in the movies, just too much in close blurring crap between similarly coloured robots. They reduced it some after the first movie had tons of complaints but it was still an annoyance in subsequent films. I still wil never forget barricade inexplicably disappearing from the first movie only to show up in third, that must have been a huge editing\storyboarding error somewhere along the line especially as you see him on his way to the battle. IIRC he's meant to be taken out en route by Prime or something in the comic of the movie but its never mentioned in the movie?

The first movie has a LOT of errors (or just lazy editing, directing etc).

Blackout just appears in the 3rd movie just to die and even Bonecrusher who was incorrectly named in the first movie, and killed, is seen in either the 2nd or 3rd (can't remember) at one point.

But hey, maybe it's a throwback to the 100s of errors in the original cartoon? lol
There is like 10 per episode in there.

Was that helicopter blackout, I seem to recall it being called something else, Grindor from what ive read, Blackout was killed t the end of the first movie but "Grindor" appeared in the third, essentially the same thing though.

Yeah it is indeed Grindor...but it even said some of the screen writers were not sure if it was the same character or not and the robot mode is an exact copy of Blackout. So, no doubt it's another error then they realised and said oh no it's another transformer.

But it happens constantly in the cartoon anyway so can't really complain about that!
Watched an episode the other day where the Autobots were asking 'where is Bumblebee' and he was standing next to them on that scene. Writers and Artists must have never commmunicated at all during that show.

Very curious as to what the storyline is all about as I haven't really been following this. Couldn't give a damn about the film overall though as it is 'Bay' and his daft slow mo, fast camera panning sequences. Doubt I'll go and see it though.

I love the trailer...

Must say Apart from the Baysplosions i think he may have listened and is making an epic action movie...

I am calling it and saying this could be the best one yet...
