If we have Galvatron, does that mean... Unicron?
My knowledge stops with Transformers: The Movie, so I dunno if they've changed the whole Galvatron origin in later stuff.
Galvatron is not linked to Megatron or Unicron in anyway other than in the 1986 movie and kind of series 3 although it was never referred to again...and I hope that this is the angle they take if he's in it properly.
I prefer the idea of Galvatron being just Galvatron. The point of Galvatron is that he is completely insane. Megatron is bad, but he respects Optimus, he isn't mindlessly evil and is fighting for a cause he believes in.
Galvatron is crazier, more evil and is there purely to bring chaos.
As a massive Transformers fan, I do not enjoy the Bay films as Transformers films. However, as some mindless action of giant robots fighting each other then they are decent enough. All 3 have about 1 hours worth of unbearable material with horrific acting but otherwise the rest of the movies are actually decent.
I was hoping for a proper reboot here but looks to just be along the same lines.
At least with Wahlberg in they shouldn't have all that silly teenage college humour in and maybe there are less irritating scenes throughout. Fingers crossed. But it is meant to appeal to a young audience of males so we can still expect some putrile garbage to be thrown in for them.
If I was a 6 year old boy, I'd still be insulted that they thought I was immature enough to enjoy the humour in these. lol
Me and my wife will still go and see this. We both admit that we shouldn't, but we equally know that we love Transformers too much to miss it. I'll even buy the bluray as I did the other 3.
So I can't really complain too much when I'm contributing towards their success
