seriously why couldn't Bay just copy and paste that whole plot scene by scene word for word into the movie?

He could still have his over the top action scenes so why not? How is it even possible to ruin a story from transformers? Any one of us could have made a better plot then Bay's attempts
 
I really didn't like this film as it had terrible acting along side an even worse plot. How the hell mark walhbergs "daughter" is meant to be 17, yet wears a tarts outfit for the entire film, is anyones guess.

I think Bay knows that he uses Unicron in one of his movies it'll be because he intends it to be the last Transformers movie he makes. I'm sure he's 'saving' that one
 
Went to see this today and OMG this is a terrible terrible film.

Bay has hit a new low with this, i am a transformer fan from the 80s and for me the films went like this;

1 = really enjoyed
2 = was good, but not as good as 1
3 = watchable considering all the points to take into account like continuity of story etc
4 = Awful

The film consists of terrible acting, ive seen wahlberg do some decent acting but in the this, horrendous, but not compared to the guy who plays shane, jack raynor, he made wahlberg look amazing, that guy was as wooden as wooden gets.

The story inconsistency compared to the previous films is just cringe worthy, apart from the third film forgetting the 1st two, and transformers were here thousands of years ago, apparently now

they visited us 25 millions years ago and were actually the reason the dinosaurs were made extinct as they devoured our world to create the metal that made them or something like that.

I know this happened in the other films but it was just amazing how many times optimus prime was at deaths door and then the next scene he's fine again, if you've seen the trailer, when they find him, and revive him, bits are falling off him, he's leaking and all that, basically barely alive. Prime says to wahlbergs character he needs the autobots to repair him, they have a conversation and wahlberg says what about me, you then see some scenes of him doing metal work and welding and all that, then the bad guys come, battle ensues, they escape and then prime drives down the road and just scans a truck and he's brand new WTF, why didnt he and every other autobot in the previous films do that and survive????

I can keep going, the list is frankly endless as to how bad this film was, like i said i was and still am a big transformers fan, i enjoyed the first three to one degree or another, regardless of there faults, especially in the third film but this is just cack!!! oh and galvatron is in the film but he's a truck for the love of god, a bloody truck i.e. a copy of optimus prime

The only things i will give this film is that the action sequences were very well done, and graphically impressive etc, and i did like how
galvatron was made

I am being generous though, the film is utter garbage.

And galvatron is actually megatron in a new body, much like the cartoon movie. That being said it would be hard to have transformers without megatron. He also sounds more like he did in the cartoon with Frank Welker voicing him.


Was just "meh" to say the least. There's absolutely no mention of any of the Human characters from the previous movies either, I know its a new cast for this one but are you meant to ignore what happened in the previous 3 altogether even though they mention Chicago several times? Its just a big cash in and nothing more, different alternate modes for the robots just to flog new toys, and yet again a storyline which totally contradicts the previous movies in regards to Earth being a supposed "unknown planet" to the transformers. Considering what's said in this movie about Earth and how significant it is to the Creation of the Transformers its totally retarded that Earth was "unknown" to them, and considering the opening monologue for the first movie and who reveals what happened on earth in this movie it makes me want to smack Michael Bay even more.

Transformers 2 was on CH4 last night and I watched it again until i got bored.

I dont get how a man can put his name to films that are so truly awful?

Megan Fox is ridiculously good looking but other than that I want every character to shut up and die. His parents? Seriously. Every American "hero" soldier...

Does Bay have a hand is designing the terrible little Stereotype Jewish/Italian transformers that sound like something out of a Marx brothers film..?

Does he have a hand in the VFX "choreography" of the fight scenes (which are the 2nd reason after the Fox to watch the film but even they can get nauseatingly over the top and always involve a head being ripped off or full rib cage piercing from behind...)

Anyway.... No freaking way would i pay £12 to watch this....If its still on at my local cheap £4 cinema i might, just so i can slate Micheal bay some more... lol

He needs to get away from butchering my childhood memories.

I dont even like Megan Fox!

Its even worse when all that has to be done is just what people want. It doesn't have to be anything else.
I'll wait for blu ray. And I'll only rent
 
I saw this last night, awful awful awful film, I went with a lass who is a huge transformers fan and we were both waiting for the film to end so we could leave.

Both enjoyed the first 3, as they are just popcorn movies. Main problem with this one is its just constant fighting, which gets tedious after about 40 minutes, no real storeline, plot holes aplenty and just general WTF moments.

Watched it last night and put my initial thoughts in the "What film did you watch" thread (spoiler - It's not good) and I agree with most of what Cookie12 said in his spoilers.

Visually stunning CGI for 90% of the movie, everything else poor or worse.

You have to admit though, they are incredibly pretty films.
