Tri-Fire AMD Brethren

For as rancid as it was, my old phobya case could hold 3 x psu's while housing a 480+280 internally and a 1080 on the side :p

Any PC I build from now on will be able to use two PSUs, after using 4K and multi GPUs I have noticed that to run the resolution the PSU has to work noticablely harder. The PSU in my Titan rig can handle peaks of 1650watts but there has been times when this is not enough. The two 1200i PSUs in my 290X rig on the other hand have had no problems at all.

:eek::eek:

POWERRR...

Did you ever get up to using the 3?

I only ever used the one with it though has 3 separate psu bay's. A shame it weighs 26kg empty and has no cable management whatsoever.

Multi psu setups are gradually becoming the norm, you only have to look as far as antecs new 'oc link' feature to see this.

What motherboard you using Matt?

P8Z77 WS Revolution mate. Originally bought so i could use XDMA crossfire at x16 x16. No other Sandy board offers it, unless i went X79 and 6 core. When i got originally got the board, the plan was not to TriFire. However as it happens, it worked out nicely.

G.1 Sniper 3?
Extreme 9?
I know there's more, just two off the top of my head. Yours certainly isn't the only lol.

I didn't want that Sniper board because of the Green. Never heard of the extreme 9 but will have a look on google. Not going to split hairs over it now though.

EDIT

Extreme 9 is an AMD board isn't it? I have an Intel cpu.

The sniper is green :D
TBH i'd rather the Asus, bios is better. The extreme9, meh. I'm not a fan of Asrock.

Exactly the reason i went for it. I tried an MSI board and hated it. Went back to Asus after that. I had a good look around, this was the only option bar the Sniper.
