Tribes uncontacted by man - facinating

if they don't want to be disturbed fine. But why shouldn't we go and introduce are selfs taking proper precautions. They might not know about the outside world. I still don't understand why all the hatred for going and exploring.

think about it....

try to imagine thousands of dirty rude immigrants coming over and decimating your homeland. Poking their nose into your stuff, photographing you, leaving mess everywhere...no respect for custom and tradition...basically just wanting to exploit you for as much as they can get.

Which if the Brazilian goverment do what they are planning wont happen. This is not like the old days. They have a right to know we exist. They do not need looking after like some kiddie museum artifact.

Past history doesn't suggest that it will go well, maybe we (as the Western World or indeed anyone in the "civilised" World) will do better this time but I certainly wouldn't put the house on it. At the moment we know the tribe is there, they've been alerted by a spyplane going over - why not wait and see if they are interested enough to come find us? If the tribe does want to venture out then fine but otherwise I don't see a particularly good reason to disturb them any further.

Because they'll have no idea what a plane is and that we where looking at them.
Go there and if they don't wont to know us they can tell us. As long as legislation is in place I can't see the problem. After the initial meetings. Most tribes seem to be fascinated with us, in the same way we are fascinated by them.

Sounds familiar...

Looks like we missed some.

They have a right to know we exist

thats a bit bizarre... what you said there..hrmm. You mean the tribepeople have a right to know that other people exist?

To be honest your projecting your own values onto them. Dont forget the prime directive :p

I'm not projecting anything on them. If they want to tell us to go away then fine. But I don't see why we should do something on there behalf. When we don't even know what they want. That is just plain stupid. But nothing more than I expect from this country. We all need looking after, even though no ones asked us.

you been to a zoo? its fun for the animals aint it.

this is another test for good ole humanity... 50 quid says they balls it up.

God help them if their land is home to any rich material deposits

Did you miss the part where they explain the reason for taking the photos so that the goverment introduce legislation so this can't happen.

They are not animals, there just as intelligent as us. Stop looking at them as a museum piece and instead as equals.

So they aren't equals? Could you explain that controversial statement? :)

what controversial? I said they are equals and for you lot to stop treating them like some sort of museum artifact. I think what I said is pretty clear.Re worded to make it clearer.

Ahh youve edited it correctly thats better.

No-one is treating them like artifacts/museum pieces...we should just leave them alone. Fair enough if they make the first step towards us then a dialogue could be entered into but if we go in first then we are just intruding upon them and their way of life.

Everyone surely has the right to be left alone. What harm are they doing? Why do we need to interfere?

But you are, you are saying to leave them alone. when you have no idea what they want. You only want to keep them isolated so they carry on living how they are. Because you are fascinated by there lifstyle. That is treating them like kids.

And tehy would be intruding on us and would be far more scared of us. If they even know we exist. Perhaps they scared to come and ask seeing as we have stuff which is huge and noisy.

A ridiculous statement Acidhell....so now i think you're trolling *sigh*

Fascinated by their lifestyle? I admit i'm curious about it but i think their right to privacy overrides any blundering intrusion upon it by us.

it rarely ends well this sort of contact... but like i said if they make the first step and want to learn about us then i guess cautious dialogue would be permissable.
