** TRIO OF WEEKEND BLOODY SILLY PRICES!! **

That's a great price on the 980Ti, the only bad thing is Zotac website says they void warranty for cooler removal =(

Thought there was an 8GB FuryX coming around august time.

There is, it's just that it is a dual gpu. I'm guessing AMD think they can unify the memory on a dual card with dx12 but other than that i have not heard about 8GB single Fury X apart from a few in the speculation thread assuming it. It would make sense however.

I'm having problems too. I was planning to wait for Fury to land before I did anything (this upgrade is a reward for gaining a new Job) but Gibbo has stuck a good spanner in the works - I hate and like him all at the same time.

Gibbo argh!!

I was in the same boat as you and just jumped overboard. While I wanted to wait for Fury X I have been running iGPU now for 3 weeks since I removed and sold my 980. The prospect of waiting another 2-3 weeks for the non price gouged Fury X was my incentive to jump.

Yep, massive deal breaker right there for anyone planning to watercool. I was tempted to go for the EVGA 980Ti Hybrid cooler and a OCUK reference 980Ti. But this GPU, a less aggressive target temp and the fact I will save £140 sealed the deal.

I have opened negotiations with my wife. I do not really hold a strong position because I wasted well over a grand chasing the dream with the wrong company already, but I should think I'll be ordering at least one 980ti tomorrow.

This makes me happy, but also angry. I'm an unpredictable mass of joy and rage. I recommend everyone just... Keep their distance.

Thank you

Edit, can't believe it hasn't sold.

A brand new G1 Gaming was costing £509 a few weeks ago. I honestly don't know what people expect to pick them up for second hand. It's a very capable card at 1440 and it wouldn't break my heart to keep it until Pascal. At 1080p it's perfect.

Anyway, I don't want to take this thread on a tangent so I hope that gives you an idea.

To be honest, it's another stumbling block for me... Selling the 980. Here's my MM thread to give you an idea.

Par for the course I'm afraid with GPU enthusiasts. If we absolutely must have higher end GPUs we need to accept considerable depreciation of our older kit. Though in some cases I wonder how cheap some folk expect decent second hand GPUs to sell for.

Not for 400 when a ti can be had for 99 more...

It's not what it worth ..it's what people are willing to pay...yes you want a ti but people also want a 980 if it's a fair price...why would they pay 350 for 980 ?
