trouble buyer on the bay

Hey guys,

I had a bit of a selling spree last week. Sold 7 items, got excellent feedback, quick delivery, well packaged etc. But the person I sold my XFX 4890 to is saying it's not arrived. He has a Polish name, lives in london from what I can tell its an apartment.

I've told him to check for a delivery note, incase he was out. But he's sending very short broken english messages

"Could you post items yet "

------------

"HI

I havent got item yet, 7 days gone , if i can get my item till wendesday i want money back . "

:( I dont have a good feeling about this. What happens if he continues to say the item has not arrived, and what can he do to get his money back?

I put a lot of effort packing well and dispatching on the same day, the item SHOULD be there, its been a full week. Dispatched 1st class package. All the other items were delivered quickly. Can this guy claim for a refund and keep my card if he actually has it?

- I dont mean to be rude, or racist, I mentioned he had a polish name for background info only, he is a new ebay member and this is only his second purchase.

were did you send it too.

OP should insist the buyer waits the remainder of the 15 days for the item to be declared lost and then issue a refund. Simple really.

Lesson learnt - we all make mistakes when we are new to something, it just sucks that it costed you so much.

But look at it from his ponit, wouldn't you be angry if you bought a £150 GFX card and that went missing and no insurance covered it??

Anything worth £10+ just record it for the extra 75p, insureed for >£39.

They don't, peoples boyfriends/girlfriends use their paypal accounts without their knowledge to buy items then do a runner, which happened when I sold a games console. The buyer did everything by the book, paid through ebay, I delivered to their verified address, then a few days later it turns out that some girls ex used her paypal account without her knowing and then dissappeared which resulted in a chargeback from paypal, without seller protection I would have been over £200 down!

Nonsense !
If you can prove that you have sent the item to the accounts verified address which you can do with the 72p RD then paypal/ebay ain't gonna do anything!
The story above makes NO SENSE, firstly the likelihood of it actually happening is extremely rare and even if it did occur like I said all you need to do is prove that it was sent to the customers verified address. The girlfriend / boyfriend issue at the account holders verified address is the buyers problem/fault not the sellers and that's EXACTLY how ebay would see it!!

80 percent you were scammed. Just record it. I've got another question but I've never met before. Suppose I send some rubbish instead of the item, but record it. How can ebay verify what's actually in the package?

99% of the time they side with the buyer anyway or buyer will just do a charge back on the credit card. There is nothing to stop the buyer sending rubbish back recorded though if they are returning an item.
