Trusted CD Key Sites.

see some of the sites tell you to use a Russian VPN, anyone ever use it?
wouldn't mind getting borderlands 2 for £13ish

Edit : after some google don't seem like a good idea :(

BL2 is only £14.99 in game

CJ's never again, after the whole GW2 Debacle, them accusing me of stealing from them and trying to get free games. Eventually managed to get it refunded but horrendous CS, blatant C+P and extremely poor understanding.

Even though its cheap, surely this is only 1 step above piracy from a moral standpoint, considering these companies usually buy their stock from remote countries that get it cheaper because the economy is far weaker, thus trashing the UK market and costing the games companies lots of £.

I deal with similar companies in the IT industry, also known as brokers or grey importers and vendors absolutely hate them!

Completely disagree with that.
Valid Serial key from a retail copy in most circumstances.
Why it matters where the physical box was sold is beyond me.
Global market, Exchange rates and all that Jazz? Meh

Play SC - I purchased two keys from Play SC. Ordered on a Tuesday morning and heard nothing. Contacted them for an update Wednesday evening through their Facebook contact and was told they were awaiting stock. I eventually received the keys on Friday.

After reading reviews it was worrying hearing of others experiences and I thought I was going to be scammed but Play SC came good. In the future I would rather order from one of the higher rated stores listed here as the wait can make you anxious.

If Steam/Origin/everyone had the same policy as GOG.com - same price worldwide for everyone - there would be no need for these grey shops.
But if companies want to rip people off based on where they live, they only deserve to get ripped off in return!

CD Key House (CDKH) - I thought I would give this company a try seeing it has good reviews. It's all good...I received my key within minutes and it activated fine on Steam. They do ask you for verification through a text message to confirm it's you buying. You just enter the pin from the text and then you receive your key.

This, would arguably reduce piracy too, but that's another topic.

On topic though I used CJS Keys the other day to buy the Deep Ocean expansion for Anno 2070 and was all fine, had key in seconds and activated without hassle.

Actually prices are set based on the economic strength of a country and what the reletaive poulation get paid a salary, so that luxuries such as games are relativley affordable.

You couldnt charge £40 for a game in a country where people get paid that amount once a week.

We in the UK pay way more than anyone else....but then we generally get paid more than other countries unless you work in a low skilled job.

If you were to import those games physically you would have to pay an import tax on them.

Buy using the internet to get these keys from these countries you are grey importing and that does harm the industry, no matter what you may think about whether you are being "ripped off" in this country or not.

As I said previously its the same in the IT industry, with people importing Cisco kit for example from China for 100's of pounds, when they are priced at £1000's in the UK.

If you buy a game for £13 from a grey company....how much of that money do you think the devs see?...a pound? sure that helps their development costs for their next title.

Just as much of it as the developers see from any way the game is sold, as it's the publishers who make all the money post-release. Besides, these 'grey' market companies get their stock the same was as places like GAME, PLAY and even OcUK do, then they take their stock and sell the keys from the boxes and bin them, simple. The publishers see a lot more than a pound, anyone would think you thought these were stolen off the back of a truck or something. :p

Publishers dont make ALL the money....and investment in future games depends on revenue taken.

Im not saying that buying it from CD Key sites is terrible....but it does harm the game inustry and you cant deny that.

And they dont get them from Game, Play or OCUk......they get them from game distributors in foriegn countries, that are probably breaking their contractural obligations with the game puplishers selling them to unauthorised companies.

I've only used one once, G2Play to get Anno 2070. Worked fine, but I do have my doubts about them and many other CD key websites.

G2Play aren't even that cheap any more.

These sites are legit, maybe some ale a few shortcuts, but on the whole what they is legal and unlike what the (insert what ever u want here) think they do in fact put more cash in everyone pocket!

No I mean they get their stock from the same distribution companies that official retailers do, so they aren't dodgey and they don't take money out of anyone's pocket. It's no different to me going down ASDA and grabbing stupidly cheap Dead Island keys and selling them on at a small increase to people I know/on forums/etc. (Dead Island released at about £20 there brand new iirc).
