Tueday Carling Cup Spoilers

Can you imagine if Blackburn got to the final. It would be one of the worst capacity finals ever. May as well hold it at Villa park, there would still only be 30000 there.

Away goals. Why did Wigan get 120 minutes to score one, yet Arsenal get 90 mintues? Surely away goals should only count up until to the end of Full time. That would then take the game to penalties. Seems a fairer way to do it imo.

Both are towns not cities like Manchester or London, not everybody in the town follows football and we are not all on mega money like you guys in London or Manchester.

LOL @ all the gooner fans - when they lose............. "na it's a rubbish cup anyway" i'm a Man Utd boy and i get peeded if they lose any match!

For your information, I've had a season ticket for many years now and haven't been bothered to attend League Cup match for about 5 years, so if I thought it meant anything, then I would have gone and the same is true of all the other season ticket holders that I know, bar my mate Tony.

I've stated on here, on numerous occasions, that I have no regard for the League Cup and even if we had reached the final, I wouldn't have gone either.

As for cheets64, I presume you're quite new to this away game lark if you think London is bad.

Try being a southerner going to an away game up north, we get very little help up there, from equally ignorant people, often giving us the wrong directions, it's a part of going away mate, get used to it.

What a day it went wrong from the start, only got to london for 7:30 and it took us another hour to find islinton (london is a disgrace when it comes to sign posts) No parking for away fans which is another disgrace, had to risk the car in a residential street, lucky it was safe.

Missed the first half but what a second half, great game and it was even better to jump around in the stands when Roberts scored and to wind up the Arsenal fans in the away stand and around the ground, never seen so many people ****** off :D

The ref was poor on both sides but why no card for Fat Campbell.

Just got back and I wont be going back to London in a hurry, dirty, stupidly busy, full of ignorant people who wouldnt give way to you or tell you where Arsenal FC was.

With views like that we won't be missing you if you don't come down again so no great loss there. If your team did the decent thing they would have warned you that parking around Highbury (for Home and Away supporters) is a big nightmare so use public transport or drive so far and park a bit further away.

You guys seemed to go nice and quiet after our goals so I suppose it made a change for you to jump around after your, deserved, winning goal.

And it looks like you've got a load of yobs following you around because when Pollit saved the penalty and when Roberts scored all they seemed to want to do was run on the pitch. Behave

so you cheered when they lost at the end of the game then? if that's the case can't be a big fan, like man utd it's one of your best chances of winning a cup this year

So you missed the whole 'season ticket holder' bit then ?
Put the shovel down and step away from the hole, your deep enough :D

I dont want to join an arguement or whatever but what has being a season ticket holder got to do with not going to cup matches anyways?!
Its not like you get cup matched with your season ticket (well you dont at wigan anyways lol).

Fair enough but...

A) I'm a manc :D

B) If you do play United, even if you lose you'll still get into the UEFA ;) If you lose to Blackburn you won't :)

Plus a final vs. United has got to be be more entertaining then bloody Blackburn! :o

No. Loser of the FA Cup final can go to Europe if the winners are already there, if they lose in th final of the Worthless then they get nothing.

Shows the gulf in the league right now between the top teams and the teams there to make up the numbers.
If Newcastle got to the final of the league cup I would walk there barefooted. :)

Definitely. The same way that it doesn't get handed down to FAC semi-finalists if the finalists are already into Europe on league position.

been a Man Utd fan for 17 years, always wanted man utd to win, but did not care so much for the worthycup, but things change and man utd are not in the CL and not in a postion to win the prem, so going for a double dom cup win is the best i they can do, so glad they won tonight, i'm sure on the day they will be to strong for plucky wigan.... well lets hope anyway! Wigan have been quite a package this year!

Hmm you sure? I just assumed it was the same as the FA cup? Why's it one and not the other?

It's obvious about the semi-finalists, how would they decide who to give it too? :p

Just come to me Jeff Winter i think hes called

Fat **** anyway whatever his name is

he's recently been quoted as saying about his last game at Anfield:

“I played a little bit of extra time, waiting until play was at the Kop end, before sounding the final shrill blast...the fans behind the goal burst into spontaneous applause. It was longer and louder than normal, even for a big home win. Did they know it was my final visit? Was it applause for me? They are such knowledgeable football people, it would not surprise me.”

rofl....what a twit!
