I don't agree, look at the following distance all over the lap and at ever race this year. It is due to double diffusers and less dirty air. Also wouldn't be surprised if tyres making a difference as well. They don't seem to blister or anything, as they discard so much rubber. So aren't affected nearly as much by following.

I haven't been looking closely at the following distances for this race or any others, it just seemed that a lot of the non DRS overtakes were shortly after a DRS overtake.

I'll accept your more informed opinion! Either way, more non-DRS overtaking is good for me!

I don't understand why they didn't match the others 4 stopping with Button, they have screwed him. His tyres will be shot by the end.

So, just because they can follow closer because the DD's have gone doesn't mean there would be more passing. There wasn't before the DD's and they could follow more closely.

Ferrari believe no penalty for unsafe release because Massa gave the place ?!?

Surely the penalty is for a disregard for safety than for position.

Before the DDD there were more aero parts on the car, mini-wings, flipups and the diffusers themselves were much larger.

Before double diffuser they couldn't follow as closely due to dirty care cause by other aero dynamics. They got rid of those aero dynamics to reduce dirty air. But like normal some cleaver sod designed double diffuser which replaces all the dirty back in, in one go. Now that's go this is less dirty air and following closer than they have in years. Just look at the over takes we are seeing all over the track. And the gap times again all over the tracks.
