Turkish Grand Prix 2011, Istanbul Park - Race 4/19

No it's not, it's obvious how quick they can get passed and not eat the tyres with DRS but as soon as they have a battle the tyres get killed.

If everything was equal with battles over multiple laps the tyres would be done.

Obviously at Monaco we will see how well the tyres last in the dirty air with no DRS.

Yes I suppose you're right, letting the cars pass each other ridiculously easily is much more entertaining than watching them push the cars to the limits.

No one today has completely killed tyres from battling, no idea where you've pulled that idea from.

Does Martin have no concept of distance/time? Every time someone exits the pit he talks about whether they'll make it out in front, yet it's so obvious they will!

Lewis did.

It is more entertaining, slower cars are not geting passed faster cars. It stops races turning into processions with cars getting stuck behind slower cars.

I agree there are better aero methods to fix it but until then this is working well.

The same whingers moaning about overtaking that used to moan when there was none. There are plenty of other forms of motorsport you could watch if it's so offensive to you?

He didn't at all, that's rubbish. He's been hammering his tyres all race whether he's fighting with other cars or not.

Also, if you genuinely think there would have been no overtaking today without DRS you're either watching a different race to me or you're living in an alternate reality. There has been fighting all over the track - the cars can clearly manage it here.

This race would have been great without DRS, it's just made a joke of passing on that straight.

its not fast enough though he'll be behind button unless he really picks it up

he's gonna struggle to get ahead of petrov and heidfield at this rate

hes got 13.5 on button, 18 for a stop puts him 5ish behind and he will be on fresh tyres with button on old hard tyres. so he will have the tyre advantage.

You're the one in an alternate reality because at no point have said that.

I have no idea why so many people bother watching if they want to spend every season whinging about everything.

For me it's exciting and fairly unpredictable. Perfect no, but it never will be.

I'm loving DRS + Pirelli tyres + KERS.
For me, this is the best dry track racing I have probably ever seen.

Only thing I would like is to let them run the single best compound rather than force them to use both.

Mclaren gifted this to lewis over Button. There was no way Jensons tyres would be in shape at the end.

You said without DRS it would be processional. To be processional you'd need no overtaking.

Today's race would have been absolutely nowhere near the processional borefests we had last year if DRS was removed, it has given us fantastic racing all over the track and I just think DRS has contributed nothing to that.
